We had our first FT shoot of they year at Elmira, and it was a great success. I want to thank Powderkeg and Parker101 ( I hope I got the handles correct) for attending. They both did exceedingly well for their first tryout with Parker 101 beating powderkeg in the hunter class by a slim margin. They both seemed to have a lot of fun and both intend to become regulars. Well done!

The promised rain was a tempest in a teacup, a couple of 5 minute sprinkles, although it looked pretty ominous a couple of times. It was good to see all the regulars out after a winter off.

I personally cant wait for the next one in Port Colborne.

I would also like to congratulate them as the first participants in the Hunter Division of CAFTA. Their participation shows that the system of scoring works well, and that Hunter does not have to be a separate match or a separate organization. This is a sport that takes some time to get accustomed to, and by the end of the season, we expect to find feedback pertaining to Hunter from shooters like Powderkeg and Parker101. Take care, and welcome.

That was just too much fun.... 8) 8) 8) ....
Wow, what a break of pace from the same old routines.....
It turned out to be a great day to spend outdoors in a wooded area shooting our air guns....
Thanks to all that made this event possible...
I must encourage other to join in on the fun...
All the FT savvy shooters there made sure us newbies were comfortable in this new to us environment ....
You'll definitely see more of me out at those matches... :twisted:

Hey, I see that the rain showers didn't remove the focus wheel covering tape, lol. Congrats to both of you. Next time, I will make the tape, Bright Safety Yellow, lol. Talk to you later.

I had to go to work today .... darn .... but bills come first ... lol.....

Nice Parker, I like that medal ...... and the nice tuned gun .... lucky
wasn't tune by some t.h. tuner ... lol.....

Congrats Parker_101!
I'm finally heading out tmrw morning to get my scope sighted in and do some pellet testing.
Hopefully my new work schedule will allow me to make it out to an upcoming match!

Had a great time...even in the rain! Congratulations to Parker on being the first Hunter Class Winner! For the first shoot of the season, there were some impressive scores! :shock: Talk about setting the bar too high?! :wink:

Congrats to the first two Hunter Division shooters, and especially to Parker 101 for "gettin' it done" :supz:

Despite windbag having to console me a few times as I watched my FWB300S become rain drenched :shock: , it was a great time :lol: . The varying weather and winds pointed out to some of us (well, to me anyway) where our skills had become a bit lax over the long, cold winter. In my case, my mediocre at best wind doping skills were put to the test on one lane - and I failed miserably :oops: . I guess I need a bit more practice :wink: .

To those that have been thinking about it, c'mon on out and join us - you'll enjoy it immensely !!!!

The shoot was 60 shots, 30 target, set up on 10 lanes (2 shots at each target).

There were 15 in attendance.
- 7 PCP/PCP Limited Division shooters
- 6 Piston/Piston Limited Division shooters
- 2 Hunter Division shooters.

The Guns:
- 2 Steyr LG100's
- 2 QB's
- 2 HW97's
- 1 LDSS's
- 1 Theoben MFR
- 2 Air Arms TX200's
- 1 Air Arms S400
- 1 Air Arms S300
- 1 Air Arms Pro Sport
- 1 FWB 300s
- 1 Air Arms Pro Target

The Scores:
PCP/Limited Division
- 1st 59/60
- 2nd 58/60
- 3rd 56/60

Piston/Limited Division
- 1st 50/60
- 2nd 48/60
- 3rd 46/60

Hunter
- 1st 77/120
- 2nd 65/120
1 point for hitting the target ,and two points for knocking the target down(60 shots total for 120 points).

Distances
- Shortest - around 11 yards
- Longest - high 40's (shooters ranged it from 46-50).

All of this is from memory, and I have nothing written down. So please excuse any slight errors. :D

Can't wait to get out there again!!!....
