If the computer setup was better, it would not be on my carver... It would be on my milling machine.

I don't want to get into quoting prices for wood, etc... I don't run alumber yard, I don't have a large selection of wood and I don't want to get into sourcing exotics. For those that do make furniture, you know the prices vary greatly and finding a good blank can take time.

Copying a stock from a blank can be done very quickly, if the blank is precut to the basic shape of the stock. If the carver is left to remove all the material itself, it's very time consuming. That being said, it should be able to cut a 350 stock in less than an hour if the blank is preworked.

Shipping stocks here, returning stocks, etc... I just don't want to get into it right now. Working 7 days a week at the full-time job, three kids at home. I don't have time to be doing quotes. I'll complete some stocks, get some pictures up, include prices per project.

Combination of me being too busy and a change in the machine. Almost complete, full CNC setup now. But I will not advertise...

Hope you don't mind me reviving this thread but I was wondering if you had tried out the setup and making any stocks yet?

No problem... I scrapped the old duplicator and am working on a new modern DIY cnc machine for the stocks. The old machine was just a pain...
I fear doing woodwork on my metal CNC will eventually lead to it suffocating in sawdust. Plus I don't need the .001" accuracy on wood, as wood moves anyways.
Funny you revived the topic today, as today I just installed the linear rails for the Z axis and I have BIG plans for it in the next couple months.
I'm not that active on this forum, due to recent events. You know where to find me.
