I am still struggling with this rifle, trying different pellets and scopes. I have discovered that the scopes have to be adjusted to their maximum up elevation and some of my scopes do not have enough up elevation to zero with the POI of the pellet. I don't think scopes work well at the extreme adjustment. I really hope that I can solve the problem with this rifle as I have some rough conditions and this rifle would be ideal. I wouldn't have to worry about scratches or moisture.

Shim the back of the scope up.... that will get you back into the proper adjustment range.... Try about 0.010" - 0.020" to start....

Took the stock off the gun and made some trigger (GTX) adjustments, twweeked it until it was sitting on a hair trigger with good solid hold on the sear. Slowly worked it until I had just a little travel, then a crisp release. Took a few attempts at adjusting but my average groups size dropped at least 60%. Shot about 7 different sessions with almost duplicate results. The trigger is a nice BENCH sensitivity but not one for the BUSH.

If I Keep my trigger elbow lower during the shouldering stage and rested the fore grip on a cushioned 2 by 4 with JSB pellets loaded flush to the breech. With some calm breathing, I might just have the nickels scared! I`ll try for dimes another day, but for now I can sleep well.

Thanks for the shimming idea, I`ll have to keep that in mind! I Havent noticed any problems there, YET.

Well things are looking up! Its been a few days now since I adjusted the rifle in anyway, and Im still detroying nickels at 12 yards with a red dot (5moa). Still find it takes me awhile of shooting to warm up to this rifle, but things have come along way. After a few sessions of shooting I have noticed my trigger is finding is consistantecy again after having an adjustment. Its not as sensitive andthe travel seems to have increased a little, I`ll make another adjustment to reduce travel once I have made sure nothing has come loose.

It seems from my shooting that the best\most accurate pellets for me in this rifle, has been the JSB Exact Jumbo RS, Im thinking the extra FPS might help stabilize the pellets a little more. I do however get the odd round that sounds funny leaving the rifle, and shoots roughly 6inches to the righ. Not to sure what is happening at this moment, but I know its not me, could be either pellet or the rifle. Time will Tell!

Anyone ever hear about problems with NP technology?

Finally, I`m truely happy with this rifle! Alot of blood, sweat and tears but its a keeper now I just need more ammo. Spent a hour last night destroying nickel sized targets, without any adjustments. This gun is a GEM in the Non pal catagory, far as Im concerned. Great bang for the Buck!

So, Knappr what do you think made the difference to the accuracy of the rifle. Was it the thorough cleaning or something else? I still can't get tight groups even with JSB rs pellets. I think I will soak the barrel in a bottle of degreaser and start from there.

watertown, have u made any adjustments to your trigger? Also I find resting the gun just in front of the trigger when bench shootng also has helped some.

I don't normally use a bench for shooting and yes I have replaced the trigger. Does anyone know if the Nitro Piston technology is temperature sensitive? I am thinking it may be reacting to temperature the way gas struts on a car trunk will get stiff in the cold. Today it is snowing and the shot groups seemed to improve as the smoke began to come out the barrel.

Nitrogen isnt affected by templike air ad co2, thats why its used in tires today. But sub zero temps sure hardens rubber seal, so this maybe a problem. I`ll hae to leave my beny in the garae overnight and see how it is affected!

After last ,night Im impressed wit what tis rifle can do at 12yards with a red dot (5moa) shooting from a semi~bench setup, I`ll have to post a pic of my best group ever! That sof course, once I get a photobucket account set up.

Good Luck Watertown, Im trying to figure out whats going on with your rifle but its tricky! Have you check the crown of the muzzel?

I checked the crown of the muzzel and it seems ok. The hinge area of the break barrel seems like a weak point. Two plastic washers seem to be all that keeps the barrel from moving from side to side. I filed them for a tighter fit and with RWS superpoint Extra the group decreased to a barely useful area. I am thinking about replacing the plastic washers with metal shims for a tighter fit. While removing the rifle stock I noticed the screws of the forestock were partly stripped. The holes in the metal were not threaded properly at the factory and the screws were just jammed into the rifle. I bought new screws and rethreaded the holes so at least the stock won't fall off. I think this was a Friday night manufactured rifle.

Im thinking those washers are there for wear purposes, but I could be wroong. I havent had to remove the barrel\breech for my gun it has always seem solid with no play. When I first bought my gun it took all I had to break\cock the rifle it felt welded.

Watertown may be it is time to either return rifle or disassemble; clean, check the internals(replace seals, Breech and piston seals) and relube and reassemble and test.

2240mod, I hate to think that a rifle has me beat so I may go the disassemble and clean route. I have never had a gas piston rifle apart. Does anyone know if the piston has a pre-load like a springer that will need a spring retainer as I disassemble. I am rather fond of all my body parts (old as they may be) and sometimes a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. :?
