Knappr, having a scope only shows how much a person really shakes when trying to aim, it shouldn't change your group size. Did you perhaps apply a sideways torque on the barrel while mounting the scope? Maybe by laying the rifle on it's side with support under the barrel. I am thinking about a torque applied to the hinge area.

I put the gun in a MTM gun rest station, wen changing the sighting sytem. But did grab the barrel muffler to see if it was loose, so maybe that were my problem lays! Im going to do some feeler gauge checks around the breech and barrel tonight and see if there any obvious problems. If that goes well Im going to remove the muffler from the barrel and see what happens.

Being a break barrel design grabbing the barrel should not have a direct result on your POI unless the force was applied sideways. Keep me posted, especially if you come up with a permanent fix even if it requires drilling a larger hole and installing a more robust hinge bolt. My brass shim I suspect is only a temporary fix that will require further modification.

If there is excess side-to-side play in the hinge area, home depot sells thin shim washers that you should be adding to both sides. That will keep the barrel aligned with the transfer port.

Well Took the shroud off the barrel, ad noticed the shroud is made up of two peices of aluminum. There is the main tube and a transistions peice that has the taper. I threaded the main peice onto the barrel without the transition peice to do some measuring. I bottomed out the threads and noticed that the transition peice was about a quarter inch longer then the gap I had remaining from the main tube to the breech block. Im trying to illiminated any barrel torque from the shroud, I would like a have a gap of a few thou so that the barrel is floating as much as possible. Took a few shots without the shroud, besides the diameter difference I did notice anything!

Once I have this completed, Im hoping to disassemble the trigger to look for any indication of sloppy maching or poor alignments.

Now that the shroud doesnt make contact with the breech and the barrel threads can bottom out I got the shroud slightly seized. So I tried to remove it ( didnt put it on hard) and thats when I noticed how easily the barrel would rotate. Humm, just to damn easy for my liking! I cant rotate the barrel using my hand but the diameter of the shroud allows for enough leverage t do so. How are these barrel locked into place? Press fit, set screwed...etc. Thanks

Barrel should not rotate at all. The breech block pivot sleeve should be cut into the barrel as well as a lock pin.
Glued as well AFAIK

Good luck there.

Well investigated alittle further witt the barrel and shroud. Turnes out now that my shroud doesnt mae solid contact with the breech block, it can now travel further in the thread area of the shroud. That wierd feeling I was getting early ( barrel rotating) turn out t be the barrel threads chasing the shroud thread as it goes alittle deeper. The shroud now has a sight rattle during cocking, so I might have to remove for shroud allowing for an oring to be slid down the barrel to the breech block so I put a little pressure and cushion to the shroud. Any suggestions?

Thanks Voltar1, I thought tose barrels would be locked up somewhat securly!

This rifle has slowly become a love\hae relationship! Im losing hope, it just to hold sensitive for my blood. To the point that I dont feel cnfident with it off the shooting bench. Might have to upgrade in spring to the something with more constant results! Another live and learn experience.
