This is one of those things that would probably drive me to get a restricted license if it was available in canada :) Reminds me of that show the Rifleman.

Save yourself the effort & check Wanstalls thread on CGN. They are non-restricted (and apparently available from them).

I found a couple threads about it, but I don't think I am finding the right one as it has nothing regarding the licensing of the mares leg. Perhaps you could point me to it?

cheers
Jeff

The cabinet's at CT go on sale a couple times a year. They work well for non- restricted firearms. Plus you can bolt them to a wall for extra security.

FYI, According to a recent Ontario court ruling, that sort of cabinet has been ruled to qualify as a safe for safe storage purposes. TSC has the 14 gun ones on sale this week.

For peace of mind I go with real safes.

I bought this one minus the "stainless" front, mine is all black and cost less than half the price when bought in store (which I did).
It can withstand external temperatures up to 593°C (1100°F) for 30 minutes and weight 335lbs when empty so when full you don't have to bolt it to the floor.
A few weeks ago they also had a larger one... I would have prefered the larger one :(

Thats quite the monster :) I was thinking a little smaller to start as we don't have a lot of room and I don't want the thing staring my partner in the face all day. She might "notice" it a little too often.

cheers
Jeff

I bought one of the Mare's leg a few weeks ago the 45LC and unless your going to shoot it like a Thompson Contender( at arms length) you may want to use or develop a cowboy action load. She is quite a handfull with a regular pistol load. You also do not need a restricted. A regular PAL is all that is required.
