Was in Princess Auto today to get a screwdriver for the valve on my QB-78. Grabbed one of these. At 33 and change before taxes, I couldn't pass it up.

ImageFrame and slide are slightly porous pot metal...

as to be expected from price and origin

Mag release is positive, and lightning-quick...

...and Umarex could take a page or six from this magazine, and release system. Best I've come across yet.

Rough crowned bbl has a bushing that seats it a bit on the low side. Gun's p.o.i. over the fixed iron sights is a bit low.

I'm hitting about 65/100 with it at 7 meters. Most of that is my eyes, and not the gun. It wants to seem to group, when I keep the rate of fire down

Trigger pull is very heavy- it's hammerless D/A only. Gun blows a little gas down through the trigger group. It could use a little attention, once I get all these piling up projects outta the way...

As to 426 fps- I haven't chronied it yet- we'll see. Gun seems to hit fairly stoutly on the first 6 shots or so on a fresh cartridge, then settles down to "normal" bb pistol "thwutting" noises...

Regards,

Doc Sharptail

I have an identical air pistol which I bought in 2008 in Canada. However, its name is “301M84” and it was distributed by Palco Sports. It is an all metal replica of the Beretta Cheetah. In 2008 I paid around $70. The fit and finish on my pistol are surprisingly very good. The most interesting part of the story is that on the right hand side of the frame of my pistol it says MADE IN TAIWAN and not MADE IN CHINA like yours. It seems that in the meantime they moved manufacturing of this particular air pistol from Taiwan to China most likely to cut off on production costs.
I have chronied it indoor and for a 15-shot rapid fire string using Copperhead BBs (5.1 gr) the highest velocity measured was 414 fps, the lowest was 377 fps (average was 390+-10 fps) at 18C with a fresh Crosman powerlet. So the real muzzle velocity is quite close to the advertised 426 fps. This is one of the BB guns where the barrel is moving back and forth serving as a hammer. That results in a pretty heavy trigger pull (12 lbs) and just average accuracy at 25 feet (7.6 m) which is my standard indoor shooting distance.
