An air pistol that is R-PAL rated would need to follow all of the rules which apply to powder-burners:

No shooting except at approved gun ranges; locked at all times except when at a range; an ATT to transport it to and from the gun range...hardly seems worth it.

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it does it make noise? Sooooo if an RPAL pistol is shot and no one knows about it are you actually breaking a law?

Blow guns, butterfly knife, silencers, switch blades... you name it, dumb weapons law are sadly too common and they don't make any sense.

Not if it is my 1871 38 Cal. Smith and Weston made in year 1875 revolver/ No licence, no lock needed and does not matter who knows. LOL
