I use a spring compressor like this, completely contains the gun, which becomes more of a issues with magnum springers...Been using this specific one since I made the video over 4years ago

Nice rig up thanks.

I always find the comments on youtube as entertaining as the videos!

I may try a combo of your rig and the bar clamp I have that Docgadget says he uses.

I have space at the farm shop so that helps...and it has steel walls so not like to get penetrated by a fly away!...it would be me I am worried about.

Well I did a test.

Firing into a tight layer cardboard as follows;

20 feet
same pellet in each
PX4 storm (advertised at 380 fps) new cannister

new Px4 - 5 shots penetrating 5th layer

45 yr+ Relum (perhaps?) - 3 shots to 5th layer 2 shots to 6th layer

Old springer wins! I think i will leave off messing with springs for now and work on a new stock and scope and clean up the steel a a little.

To be honest I was suprised but pelase with the results.

If it is indeed a leather seal then a drop or two of oil through the transfer port on top of the piston, couldn,t hurt. That is if you haven't already done that. I had one leather seal gun a few years back that was pretty dry, and it was suggested I put a lot of oil in there then stand upright over night, then drain with the barrel broke open for a few hour,s. It will likely diesel for a while but you will certainly get maximum power.
