Are under 500 guns powerful enough to compete, or is there a separate class for them?
Thx
Mike

The Open and Hunter Divisions have a 20 ft/lb upper limit and the WFTF Division has a 12 ft/lb limit. People have taken part with sub 500 guns, but are at an extreme disadvantage, especially on the shots from 40 to 55 yards. A .22 shooting close to 500 fps would probably knock the targets down if it hits the hit zone, but the trajectory would be very loopy and wind would have a great effect on the pellet.

The rifle matches are basically for pal level guns, but you would be welcome to give it a try. Would have been much better indoors on the 18th, without the effects of wind and a 50 yard max on target distance.

That event looks like it would be great to see. The photos are nice and show a wide variety of rifles. All this makes me a little envious of the opportunities to learn at a club such as the Port Colborne FT Club.

Not at all the case...

I started shooting FT with a Crosman Phantom, and regularly shoot PFT with a (highly tuned) 1377. These are not the kind of people to judge anyone based on the price point of your gun or equipment, they are the kind of people that talk to you and let try out something you are interested in...

These matches are always a great place to see and test guns you may not have the chance to otherwise, warning; we are not responsible for what happens after that

Come on out man :drinkers:
