I have the BTVS. I like it. I now own 4 .22,'s and I am willing to part with it, I am getting more use out of my custom 1022 and air guns lately.

A 10-22 rigged to shoot 1/2" or better at 50 meters is a joy in the rat fields for sure. Since the HMR came out, we've almost stopped using the .22's on the gophers, due to the better range and splat factor of the high speed .17.

I foolishly traded off my 'good' Marlin .17 HMR at the gun show 2 yrs. ago, lamented that and picked up a Savage stainless - didn't like it, would only do an inch at 100 meters, so pulled the barrel, but haven't put a .22 barrel on yet to re-chamber to .22WMR. So - I picked up another Marlin and this one likes the WW 20gr. HP - 1/2" to 3/4" at 100 meters, so I have 1,700rounds stocked up for rats later this month. Of course, several thousand .22's and 600 .17 CF's ready as well, ready to go blasting. Now, I have to get the quad running.

I have the Savage BTVLSS. Changed out the bottom plate and added an Apache trigger. With the right ammo, this rifle shoots one hole groups at 25 yds off a bench rest.

Ya know guys, if these 63 years old eyes can do a 1" group at 100yrds, I'll be more then satisfied, regardless of the gun used.

Stihltech - it is unlikely you will find any 'cheap' .22 LR (less than about $500.00) making less than 2" at 100 yards, regardless of the scope used. It is certainly possible or even probable with a CZ or Anchutz, but Marlin or Savage - I would not count on nor expect it.

So tell me, is it even possible to find a CZ .22 in Canada (never mind your home town) these days. And by any chance is there still a semi auto model ?-- something I haven't seen since Czechoslovakia was Czechoslovakia, except for the 512 (in the U.S.), which only holds five rounds, making semi-auto almost pointless.

I'm up for a semi-auto CZ, if someone can brin g me up to date.

The 512 takes CZ455 mags so you can get a 10 shot.

Hey Murray, give Glenn a call at Fly's Etc in High River. On 403 601 6120. They have a very large safe full of CZ rimfires.

Google "CZ 455 25 round Magazine". Great YouTube revue :D though not seen them for sale in Canada yet.

Thanks for the info, but I use one of Dennys BRNO steel Single Shot Adapters in my 455. (never had a use for a semi/high capacity rifle) :D
Besides, ammo costs would make me broke.(or at least more so, than I already am) :(

Gun Show on the 9th, 10th of May here. There will be a HOST of .22's along with everything else as well up to .338 Lapua's and .5's. Yes- there will be RNO's and CZ's in .22 and CZ's in .17HMR. I'd kind of like to pick one up in .17Mach2. I will be looking, when not attached to my table.
