Gentlemen,

It gives me great pleasure to introduce the HOT & HORNY DC30 HAND CANNON!!!!!
If you haven't read my DC25 thread I will just be picking up from there.

topic69188.html

Let's first go over the parts and mods that went into the Bigbore conversion.

All work was carried out by none other the Kim The Great WhiteWolf.

The Pistol Features a 12" .300 Barrel By Sean Pero & Bob Sterne.
The breech was determined in be decent but not perfect so it was cut,
rebreeched, taper lapped & micro polished for a smooth ride in.
The Barrel length is Officially 11 7/16". The barrel was then
Ported and a custom Transfer Port Fabricated from a solid piece of Delrin
So no compromise to be seen.
A Solid piece of 17-4 1/2" Stainless Steel was also sourced from the US
For the Custom Bolt. It is a full 4" long opposed to the Factory 3.6"
For extra Weight and Clearance to the back of the Receiver
The Probe Has been made Heavier for extra push & more confident feed.
The Bolt handle is more robust then the original design and Kim has the
Highest quality Knurling That I have ever seen. I mean this bolt is Gorgeous.
As the Breech seal is grooved in the Barrel the Bolt has a Beautiful Recess
To mate together. No pictures of this one.
Tolerances are kept tight and a break in period was necessary to lead up
The breech. Rounds were fed spray on furniture polish to help with the leading process.
She has a butter smooth ride and any inconsistencies in the Rounds can be picked up
By an extra ounce of push required by the Heavy Bolt.
All in all a flawless custom system.

The Pics:

1)> full shot of the pneumatic penetrator. Note the addition of a weaver rail
And how it was mounted to the 2250 barrel band with o-rings and over the front
Grip screw. The Bipod makes for an exceptionally accurate 25m bench rest pistola.

2)> 17-4 Stainless Steel Heavy bolt and Handle. Not the Knurling quality in the Bloodknob.

3)> here is a pic of the bolt being born. She was born heavy and tall and is suitable for
Pushing any weight projectile.

4)> Micro polished breech for a butter feed of the .30 JSB's.

5)> 44.74 grain .30 cal JSB's sitting on an Accurate Molds 30-70a Boat tail by Bob Sterne
Used for the rifle but is the perfect diameter for low friction travel down the 12 Barrel.
With the spring set for Non-Pal with JSB's they still shoot surprisingly well and there flat
Face hit with a very big smack. How big?

6)> THIS BIG! The first shots right of center on the steel silhouette are from the pistol in. .25.
The only Bigbore shot the target took did far more then scratch the surface. Mind you
This was a close range but I think you get the idea. .300 Boat tails sized to a low friction
fit & High energy & 7 Bigbore Repeating shots.

It was the Bullet that broke the goats back.

Again, Special thanks to KIM, Sean, Bob, Kim, Lloyd & Kim
For making this Dreamy Venture Come together to completion.

Hope you likely.

Very nice; Dan!

What kind of max fps are you getting with the JSBs?

:)

You done broke the target! :D

Now that looks like a really fun pistol. There's a moving target at GTAC that I would love to give some attention with that beauty...

Thanks Doug! And thanks for posting my pics for me. With the restricted port and the spring locked Its turned down to about 495 fps Max on JSB's. Haven't figured out the energy yet...

Thanks Everhopeful! Yup that steel target has had enough, definitely one shot one kill.
It's a blast to shoot and is a sacred event every time she's fired.
Hmmm.. I may have to look into this moving target you speak of sounds fun!

Lows fpe due to low velocity, but high in the momentum department. 24.3fpe That is what my 51Bam .22 does with 16gr. pellets. I'd estimate lower momentum (less smack on steel) but the same fpe.

Thanks Notec! Just wanted to build a truly engineered Bigbore Pistol with no holds bar
On Quality materials and design. I knew we were in deep....deep for me, another day for Kim.

Mike87gt. You can follow my recipe but The parts came from 10 different directions,
Mostly south....

That's Right Daryl, FPE is about the same between the JSB's & 70gr BBT given our current
Legal restrictions. boat tails definitely better suited for the high power rifles but still are fun ta shoot. JSB's give me an extended range and nice trajectory while still delivering the Bigbore
TWAACK Down range. Always fun to see what you hit.

Rich, yup this things a brutish hammer.

Thx Dan. Its been a pleasure to build you, your hand cannon collection.
Yes a 25 fpe airpistol it is. One could squeeze another 2-2.5fpe outta her with heavier ammo, under Canuck laws. But way too loopey IMHO of a trajectory even for 20m targets. Now under US standards having a hand cannon pushing 80 fpe and capable of taking mid sized hogs at 15 to 20 yrds. Well enough said there.
Enjoy it Reaper, for few will be able to own one. :drinkers:

Thanks Kim it's been a great experience seeing the bigbores develop in technological marvels.
I'm just glad we Canadians can show what we are capable of building and to be able to showcase the talent held and that even though we have restrictions there is little to seperate is from them. Pushing 80 FPE average over the first 3 shots in the tame down build/test phase
To arrive at a legal 20 something fpe permanent tune is like screaming to yourself in the closet. Most people will never realize what leaps this pistol has made and could have been capable of. A crying shame I says. But that's the soil we live on. NUFF said is right.
She's still a sassy girl even though she's had her tubes tied and is under mood altering meds.
Most people have no idea what this non pal Bigbore pistol actually cost once all the dust has settled, very few people would understand.... But maybe a few that are reading would.
30 year pistol man.

Reaper, this is your gladiator's sword, and Whitewolf is your blacksmith wizard. You didn't paid for it with your blood 'cause we live in a modern world, but...! Awesome pistol, I'm very happy for you! :supz:

Haha thanks Airmec,
It's like climbing the highest mountain to get to the grandmaster's temple
That lay deep in the fog of the old Forrest. Using the best metals and lost technique's
The blade was forged to take down the mighty beast... how poetic.

 You're pretty good at that yourself! Seriously, I'm really impressed by that pistol, Reaper. When I got back to air guns a couple of years ago, I never thought that such high-tech big bore air pistol could exist. Seeing that metal silhouette broken by the impacts was the most impressive. Hand cannon is a well chosen appellation!

Have fun!
