I must say I'm very surprised at how well my RVA works on the 2240.
Mine is a homemade one with a built in spring guide.
After using it I could see big changes with very small adjustment.
Next time I make one of these I'm going to make it with fine threads.
My 2240 stubby with 6" barrel is shooting those RWS hobby's real nice and consistent now.
I know it makes a lot of noise and waists some C02 but it's sure a blast and very accurate. :D
If I could figure out how to get a picture uploaded I could show my newest creation.
Maybe someone could help out.

RVA's are pretty simple. Next to guide rods for sear springs, I have sold a couple dozen over the years.

Here is my creation.
Keep in mind my plan was to keep cost down and still have a nice compact pistol.
All extra parts for the mods can be bought at the hardware store except the steel breach.
By the way I call it "Hammerhead"
Sounds odd I know but that's what comes to mind when I look at it.
I hope you guys like it, I sure do. :)

Here is a list of the mods I done to my 2240.

Crosman steel breach.
Cut and crowned 6" barrel.
Extended bolt probe made from the brass plastic breach one and the steel one combined.
Shortened stock hammer spring.
Homemade RVA with built in spring guide.
Polished hammer and tube.
Valve and transfer ports beefed up to make up for short barrel.
Pinned the valve.
Trigger job with lighter spring, homemade spring guide and built in trigger stop.
Homemade brass left hand safety.
Rear sight made from piece of original rear sight mounted on the breach cap.
Front sight made from long grub screw.
Flat black paint on grip, grip frame and barrel band.
Only power tool used was a cordless drill.
Also you need lots of time, testing and studying. :)
here are a couple more pictures.

Nice Tazz that you did it all yourself! You get great self-satisfaction I bet!

? on your rear sight? Is that a washer, you shaped, tucked between plug and breech?

Yes Rick it is very satisfying making and creating.

I was hoping someone would ask about the rear sight. :D
I looked all over the net trying to find good ideas for a rear sights but there were none to be found.
I have the LPN sight on my other pistol but I wanted something different and cheap on this one.
So I came up with my own idea.
Actually it's the steel sight bar off the original 2240's plastic rear sight. I just drilled it out so the steel breech cap would fit tight. I drilled slightly higher then the existing hole to keep the sight nice and low so my front sight could be short too. Also before installing the breech cap bolt I had to ream the bolt hole a bit to accommodate the sight thickness.
To keep the sight nice and snug I used a very small skinny piece of electrical tape about 1/8" wide wrapped around the breech cap shaft just in front of the site bar before assembly. The tape created lots of friction to hold the sight from moving around unless it got a good thump. I think a thin rubber o-ring would work fine instead of the tape.
The front sight was a long grub screw that I sanded half the treads of while it spun in the drill. To sight the gun in I just filed a little bit at a time from the grub screw until I was on the bulls eye. :)
This 2240 is a lot of fun to shoot. 8)
