it's not so bad.. in my case sighted at 25 yards, and shooting an 8.44gr pellet at 900fps i aim about 6 to 7" high and reasonable results. At least i can land them on paper for now haha. Working on getting better. Some limitations from my gun but for the most part, it's my fault

I don't have anything appropriate in .177", my Pardini pistol won't let me reach out quite that far with open sights... Chairgun tells me that I'll be pointing my QB78 13.75" (35cm) high at that distance, using JSB Exact 18.13gr. That's alright. This'll make an excellent long range sighting in opportunity. I'll print us up a few targets and stick them to cardboard. Mike, your Hammerli should have little difficulty with this. Thing's a darn laser.

yeah maybe not with the Pardini pistol. Give it a try with the QB78

Also, just calculated, according to STRELOK, i should be aiming about 9" high.. either i can't see the difference at 7" yards or my rifle is actually shooting 8.44gr JSB's more than 900fps (which would be awesome)

According to calculations i would have to shoot 8.44gr at 1050fps to aim about 7" instead of 9... i need a chrony haha

In aid of getting a better sample of a given shooter's and rifle's accuracy, might I suggest 10 shots per target? As Ted of TedsHoldover says (paraphrasing) it's easy to hide inaccuracy in a lucky 3 shot group, sometimes still possible in a 5 shot group, but it's impossible to hide anything in a 10 shot group. Of course ideally we'd all be 1-shot-1-kill shooters... but posting a target with 1 hole in the 10 is both boring and extremely easy to play games with, shooting a pile of targets once each until hitting a 10. Besides which, as one member has already pointed out, 75 yards is a fair bit of walking to set up a target (okay, not really that far, but for us at Mission it's going to take a crazy scramble up a loose gravel slope after crossing a muddy ditch as there's no other clear line of sight for that distance) so may as well make it worthwhile with a 10 shot target, right?

I agree with you. Ill try my best to redo this weekend with 10 shots on target

10 shots sounds like a great plan! I'm hoping we get good weather on that next Mission shoot. Should be a great one, with Daryl and Rick planning on coming to town. My goal is to get a 1" group of 10 with the Hammerli. I think it's achievable, but won't be too easy. Your QB should do you just fine, if that first shot you took last month is any indicator!

First shots can be awesome. Wish all my following shots had been that good. But that 60 yard bullseye or whatever it was, was with the 2260 which isn't quite as consistent as the QB78. Just need to machine my tank adapter to keep the QB at 950psi (instead of the 1200 down to 850 over 8 shots it gets now), and the mail is taking its sweet time bringing me the aluminum block and the two taps...

Couldn't wait and it was sunny tonight i took off and ran to my secret spot before the sun set. 75~ yards 4.2-11.0km/h wind 60 NE. Adjusted my scope to shoot straight in elevation with average 8km/h windage adjustment (9 clicks right) was my approximation (i'm really guessing at this stuff with windage and it seems to work)

These are my 10 shots. Took 20+ test shots prior this time to adjust for wind.

Even conservatively, that target would score 70. Nice.

You seem to be doping the wind very well; when you snug-up the vertical, you'll have it made! (insert "difficulty of shooting magnum springer" comment here . .)

The access road to my "spot", needs to dry up a wee bit more, before I can get out and embarrass myself at this distance. . . .

10 shot target is very unforgiving. Love it!

Today after FT competition I finally had chance to shoot this fun contest.
The shooting conditions was very difficult during the whole match because of strong side wind, it was my first time dealing with such windy weather while shooting.
75 yd measured by laser rangefinder, shooting HW97 with Hawke 6-24x50 scope
Sitting FT position, not rested.
It is 10 first shots no sighters, holdover 5 mildots down

Nice, you've set something of a benchmark with this target. I'll shoot seated as well, not rested (not much of a bench rested shooter anyway except when setting up a scope) and see what comes of it in a couple of weeks at Mission.
