Im taking u up on your challenge (just not right away, range not ready yet)
But you forgot to mention if you used open sights or optics. If a scope, what magnification?

I got a 953 sitting at the post office waiting for me, but a shipment of pellets hopefully coming in Friday.

I cannot shoot full 10m, But I give it a shot at 25ft, all I can shoot.

my first attempt at 10m, rested with hn sport pellets with powerline 3 9x32 scope

I tried with the diopter sights, but could not see each individual target.

Good to know, we're so on. For a while there was scared you used the open sights and I knew I couldn't keep up (cause I truly hate the fibre optics in the 953)

Btw those 953 diopters are horrible. Sell it to me!
Hope to have my range in a state where I can hang the target by next week. Currently doing the taping in my basement and I'm literally walking around in a couple of cm of drywall dust.
Those are nice targets, btw.

I don't own a 953 anymore but I have a 753 so I hope you don't mind me cheating a bit....I didn't have time to shoot 100 targets and if I shot rested the target would have a perfect score so I shot standing at 10 meters and only 12 targets. I used official 10 m air rifle targets, a Daisy/Avanti 753 and RWS R 10 Match 8.2gr pellets. I used the diopter sights that came with the gun. Please do not laugh at my first shot, I know you have heard it before but I swear it was the gun, not me..... ok laugh... lol..... I am not a pro at all and I don't get to practice as much as I would like. I normally use my Dasiy 887 because of the adjustable trigger, it is similar to the 753,853,953. Thanks for posting a challenge, I hope more people will post their skills.

I don't think apertures will help me, I tried with irons and at 15ft my first shot was 3 dots over. Only because I cannot see, Will need to wait for a scope.

K, how's this for a second challenge: shoot your other 953 with the diopter and see how you do (feel free to bring it closer, maybe 5 or 6m?) and I'll do the same with my second 953 with a red dot. It is my suspicion the diopter will be far better for accuracy but I've surprised myself with this red dot.

Unless of course, you prefer to sell me your 953 with the diopter. I mean, who needs two 953s??

Honest, I'd love to see that when you do have time. :)

Replying to this thread in order to keep it alive and hopefully have others join in. In case qazzy is still around, thanks for posting this. Plan to finally get to it in the new year. And it looks like there's another taker: topic74806.html

I will have time during this Holiday Season, may do a line (10) at a time or two, or more as my mood fancies it, we'll see.

May do 50 RWS Hobby and 50 RWS Meist. Pro 8.2 grain (or whatever they are) to see what accuracy difference there is.

Question. The 953 is a underlever pneumatic. Does this mean it's not a spring powered air rifle? More like a nitro piston or a single pump, pump gun?

I'm in too!

Still working on adjusting the scope for 10m parallax and all. Will have to find which wadcutter works best in it.
The game is on!

I just bought mine NIB from another forum member a few weeks ago. And I love it! It's a single stroke pneumatic, one pump and it compresses air directly, not a piston. And no recoil, just a faint pop when fired.
