I just received a brand new Slavia 634 from D&L.

Aside from the fact that the thing is freaking gorgeous (much nicer in person than in the photos btw...the wood is kind of darker than I've seen and very pleasing to the eye) , I was very pleased indeed to find...that CZ/Slavia has eliminated that irritating feature of the earlier models like the 630 and 631- scope grooves that are too far apart to accept 99% of the mounts out there.

The older rifles' grooves were about 13.5mm apart. If you search scope and Slavia on the net...this is the most common complaint about these guns.

Most everyone admires the quality of the Slavias...like many I have fond memories of the one I had when I was a kid.

But many have suffered trying to scope them....an exercise in futility.

My new gun was made in 2009 per the attached paperwork and target. So this change to a groove spacing of 11mm is nothing new. But, there is precious little out there about it on the internet. Slavia certainly doesn't mention it.

So, for $299, I get a high quality European made air rifle, mid velocity, that you can actually scope easily. With, a gorgeous European beech stock. (the ones I see for sale in the US btw appear to only be available with either blue or red toned composite stocks, which are much less to my taste)
What's not to like?

Now, for the next issue...I've read that like many others such as Diana, the Slavia 634's have droop.
I am thinking about one of these for the droop issue.

Great buy. I love my 634. Bought mine used with the previous owner doing a lube/tune job. Smooth as butter and shoots hard.
Its funny most of my other guns (HW's, BSA's, Diana's) all love JSB pellets but my 634 does best with RWS Superdomes (8.3 gr) Just breaks 800 fps
Around 810fps.
