I've been trying to like the bushnell AR series scope I bought for the rifle I just built but I just can't . This left me looking for a scope that I wanted to put on the rifle in the first place . The BSA FFP scope . I found one on sale 50% off on ALIexpress today so I pulled the trigger 154.00$ Canadian . I already have one on my Hatsan BT65 and love it. I would strongly recommend this scope to anyone looking for an inexpensive piece of glass. I would have bought it from a local /Canadian supplier if there was one that carried this scope, unfortunately there wasn't .

How did you get the scope , by mail? Is this company local?

Not local , I wish . The ones I ordered are from aliexpress.com . They are drop shipped from China . Some say they are knock offs , but that is not my impression . The first one I bought about two years ago has been flawless . The FFP vs. SFP is the biggest difference . I don't think I'll be getting any thing other than FFP from not on.

Did you have any issues with importing the scope from China?

The Canadian Government did not make a pact/agreement with the Chinese government concerning scopes- I assume, as Allen Rock is no longer quivering in his "
Attorney General's office in Ottawa over private citizens owning rifles with scopes. They only did that with the USA - with Clinton, who then passed a law prohibiting US companies or citizens from selling those dangerous devices to Canadians. One US company continued for a number of years, I was told, got caught, charged and fined $250,000.00.

That was Midway - now - you cannot buy anything from Midway - at least that is what I was told by Midway a few years ago. Their words were "We do not sell anything to Canadians any more".

Thus - you can buy scopes from China - as well as Lithium Polymer Batteries for your radio controlled planes and the brushless motors that power them. The motors and batteries are less than 1/3rd the cost that they are here in Canada - even after paying shipping, taxes, etc. Many of the batteries you pay $10.00 to $15.00 for, are the same batteries you will pay $83.99 for here. Many, myself included, shop here anyway.

Note - there are knockoff scopes made in China - I don't know if the BSA scopes are or not, there are scopes made there that have Leupold stamped on them along with the gold rings, etc. These are NOT Leupold Scopes. They are cheap knockoffs, according to Leupold on their site.

It should be noted that the BSA scope is not springer-rated, which killed it for me.

A lot of the scopes on Aliexpress are just knockoffs, and the ones which may be the real thing aren't saving you much money.

I didn't like the thickness of the crosshairs with the " mil" dots . It is an Ar/.308 4.5x18x40 .Also at higher magnification the exit pupil is way smaller than I'm used to. Nice scope just not for the rifle its sitting on. I may keep it if I end up buying the Kel-tec RFB powder burner I've been eying for a while.

Quick review of my cheapy scope. After unboxing and mounting the scope there are a few things that are different from the original one I had bought a year or so ago. The weight and feel is the same , the reticle is not however. Also the windage and elevation knobs are locking type ( big plus) all other features are the same . I did a box test with the scope and the turrets actually track better than the first and don't feel as mushy, with a positive click . The box test passed with flying colors . I've added a generic pic of the reticle from a quick Google search . The glass is better than any of my leapers scopes even at full 14x magnification its is very clear. All in all I'm pretty pleased with this cheapy . If it is a knockoff, they did a great job . Its not identical to the first one I bought ,the features the scope has are better than the original.
