So your a new member, no intro, only 2 posts are here. Whats with the attitude? Didn't know it was a competition to how many airguns we tuned. Because I don't see any credentials. Already members and posts here that posted good tuning guides, or how to make piston sleeves.

Crosman Phantoms are popular guns here and I've made this tear down because there was members weary on taking them apart. That was the point.

Yes, I'm new to the forum and no, I don't have an attitude. I also didn't think and never have that I needed to brag or post a long list of all the guns I own just to impress people.
Also wasn't trying to irritate you. I was surfing a brand new forum, came across a great post about tearing down a rifle and I really did just have have the thought that I could add to an already great post by chiming in with tuning info that might help future tuners by having a single post with everything they're looking for but it would appear by your replies you're not one bit happy with that so if you want, I'll happily edit my tuning reply and take it all out, just let me know and my apologies if I've somehow stepped on your toes.

p.s. - the 7-30030 Crosman model number is a Vantage not a Phantom.

New to the forum and telling someone that "you" tuned more airguns than I ever will have. You have no idea who I am. That's called ego or attitude, and being an smart a**. I'll do you a favor and block you.

Vantage, Phantom, Optima, TR77 doesn't matter all the same gun, just different stock.

Just thought I would give a big thanks to the author for re-uploading these tutorial images. I just recently acquired my RPAL after completing all the safety courses and training yet I still *LOVE* air rifles as they are much less intrusive on peoples ears.

Damn picture hosting sites... I couldn't possibly count how many times I've found some rare info I really want online, only to find the critical pix have been lost like yours. Aside from being a pita to do, this is the main reason I don't link pix.

Not sure if you'd be interested but you could post them here instead of linking. Since they have a 3 pix limit I just photoshop multiple pix into one, usually 2-4 pix into one, then that times the 3 allowed can easily be a dozen pix in one post. Of course the quality is less due to the sizing limit but most pix don't need to be high rez. If you're not into photoshopping I could do it for you, then send or PM link them back to you. If not interested in that you might consider photoshop to trim the individual pix so they load up faster. As-is they're massive, but you could reduce them to a small fraction of their current size and lose virtually nothing. I'd gladly do that too if you want, or both versions so you can decide which to go with. Or neither, it's not like it costs anything.
Either way I think it's worthy of being a sticky. Makes me think of "sponge worthy"...

Back to that liner you made which we discussed last time. My understanding is the alum was getting torn up, which is no surprise, but the alum was quieter than the plastic, which is a surprise. My plastic ones are virtually silent, which is hard to tell but I compared them side by side w/ a gas spring version and I can say they work awesome. There is no doubt some noise, but since the full power coil spring is weaker than the full power gas spring, the coil gun is actually quieter overall. I can't recall if we spoke about this already or not, but I'm wondering if you ever made a better liner for it? Nor can I recall if I told you how I do mine. My way seems to frustrate first timers and apparently many or most give up trying to make it fit right and end up with a lame version. I want you/everyone to have as good a liner as possible b/c they're worth the effort.

Yeah I'm working on it. When I posted, I do believe the site auto sized. But doesn't anymore. I reported my post to be deleted since all the pictures are now over sized. So I gotta save all the photos resize it, for the forum.

As for the alum liner, I made it too big and tight, so the spring twisting caused it to tighten up, and start to be like a croissant.
