HuskyDude, I was thinking of these

https://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/ ... -p8664641e

I like the idea of not having to walk anywhere to reset the targets. Just keep shooting. I like the second link you posted. Something like that will end up in there.

YepYep. 4x3 is small. I would miss for sure. The duct seal is fantastic. Silent. More important no dust.

wheelied, I'm definitely putting a metal sheet back there. Probably 12 gauge steel which would be adequate for my sub-pal guns. Anything more shoots into the duct trap only.

Just bring out a measuring tape.. Uhh, the box is small but not that small. It should be a little less than 6x4x3. Poor eye estimate s...

Although I can fit my sticky target on it, it's small... I am looking for another bigger box now ~ before finding the Mr. Right, hopefully with the zeroed already P17 I won't have too many flyers... [emoji16]

Where to find the cheap duct seal?

I bought a whole box (10packs, 1lbs each) today from Lowes and it looks not very much...

I think the duct seal supplier won't think about we are going to use it for this purpose... So it's packed just like some kind of snack (soft cake / jell / frozen yogurt.... something...) and if I need a bigger trap, I think maybe I will need another 10lbs to 20lbs?!

How much did you put for your trap?

I was also thinking something like these (top pic) maybe mounted on a 45°-65° angle. When hit they would spin fast but always reset to facing forward (down).
Or may double up to make vertical doubles like (bottom pic). Maybe an old fire alarm bell too!!!Image

Not sure you could get a better deal than at Home Depot/Home Hardware, Lowes etc. But if you know someone that has an account at a local refrigeration/heating wholesaler...you could just go in and buy under a "Cash Sale" at the purchase counter. Always worth a call just to find out.
You could cut what you have in half. Not sure you need the full thickness. Shot a brick and see if the pellet stops before it goes more that half way though.

No need to buy more ~ the stopping power of the duct seal just awesome!

I shot a pack without removing it from the film wraps. Shooting from about 1 yard away.

Pellets from my P17 just buried half of the pellet into the duct seal. And using my 1322 with 10 pumps, same distance, the pellet just went into about 1mm, less than 2mm. And one pack of the duct seal is about 1 inch thick...

I am thinking if I should press it onto the box, and form a thinner layer as I don't need that thick at all....

YepYep. I'd leave it at 1" thick. I used 10lbs but I need 1lb more to finish off the bottom in a 11x14 box.

I think that's a good idea as I just found it's very hard to make thinner. Maybe I need to "borrow" the rolling pin from my wife but I am not sure after I finish rolling the duct seal, she can still use the rolling pin to make dumplings anymore... :axe:

Maybe a rubber horse stall mat...

I have played around with a small (3'x4') one of these. I just have 500fps max guns and at 28 ft. the pellets hardly mark it and bounce back like BBs off steel. That was a surprise! Strangely, when tilted at an angle the pellets don't bounce off like you would expect and still come back slightly toward you.

Yes but you only hit the mat if you miss your shot.

Just in from ags. Great deal, buy 5 jsbs for a discount with free shipping. The shipping box for pellets is getting bigger and bigger. I needed another space on the gun rack so I printed one off. You can see the barrel side just to the left. There are two stacked on each other.

Picked this up today! Like it better then the UTG tube Red Dot! Has 4 diff recticles. The dot is a actual dot and doesn't have a tail, and gets really small too :)
