Post subject: IZH46M broken rear sight

Hi all,

I have a IZH46M with broken rear sight. I am looking for suggestions to fix the snapped metal piece (see pictures). Any suggestions are welcome before I use the Gorilla glue

Assuming its not pot metal, I would braze it back together and repaint it......glue will only be a temporary fix. The first time you bump it, it will snap off again.

If you cant braze it and have some patience and skill, here's what I might do. Cut a small piece of rectangular sheen metal the same width as the widest part of the sight that would give you the same hight as the original sight and that goes to the bottom of the base that is still attached to the gun. Drill and tap with a jewlers tap and die set and screw the new sight blade on to the base. You would have to make a slot of course in the sight and could either paint it flat black or blue it with gun blue. Of course you course you could also just send me the gun as a write off and not go to all that bother

thanks for the tips. It was a buddy/customer 's gun and he somehow put a pistol scope on it. Works great for him.
