You guys are doing beautiful work - absolutely amazing.
I have to buy (chambering) reamers from the States as I have "0" skill in that line of work - & then struggling with the cambering itself.

Have been tinkering with anodizing aluminum off and on the last little while. Using the process outlined here, but with a slightly reduced strength acid;

Nearly a success...still a little blotchy but getting things figured out. :) Power went out roughly 45 minutes into it and came back on while I was gone. Oxide layer was powdery at the surface. Dye is an acid dye meant for wool and seems to work good.

Fill adapter for an old air rifle. 11x1mm to foster, flanged seal from teflon. Reservoir is resealed and holding 1000psi and no bubbles! 8) Couple more bits to make and it will bark once more. 8)

Yup. Coming right along and giving me practice with single pointing...had never cut metric threads on an inch lathe before...was a learning experience. :lol: Doing a couple practice threads in 1/2" aluminum turned out to be a smart choice. :wink:

Tomorrows task is a 13/16-32 stock mount screw...a real oddball in todays world, and maybe get a start on the shot tray.

Initially tried it on my test piece same as I do inch threads...disengaging the half nut, back out, re-set and engage the half nut on a number. Kept chowdering the partially formed threads.

When I have a problem and need a solution "now", I turn to youtube...

Not as much shop time as I was hoping for, but did get the stock mount screw made. Then couldn't resist a little test fire. :)

Old girl does have a little bit of snort. 1000psi N2 fills, fired some shots at the old fire pit..steel @ ~30 yrds. These are the ones I recovered. Obvious declining shot string, but to be expected from a co2 rifle running on nitrogen.

Declining shot string indicates you have plenty of hammer strike, anyways.... a bit surprising, considering the large poppet diameter, no?....

You going to up the pressure, or back off on the hammer?....

Neither. :wink: Assuming declining shot string due to sound, time to target and obvious difference in damage to recovered pellets. It could very well have a curve to it as is. Did not chrony it.

Not going to make any attempts to tune it but I will try it on co2 and get some lead over the chrony in the next few days if the weather permits.

Finished the shot tray and ran it over the chrony this morning with the 46.3gr JSB's on a 1000psi N2 fill. Will put pics of the shot tray on the photobucket link in a bit.

775, 714,627, 502, 323...so...confirmed declining shot string. Need to make a fitting for a co2 fire extinguisher and then I'll see what it does on co2.

Filled it up with co2 yesterday and let it sit overnight to warm up. Thermometer in the shop says 22C.

With the 46.3 JSB's, 698, 694,684 and stopped there. Reservoir was cooling so pressure was dropping.

Not too shabby. 8-)
