Hello all I am wondering if anybody has experience with fixing Crosman Mk.1's mine seems to have the issue that it does not have 2 cocking positions and minimal if any power

sounds like your trigger screw is in too much...as for power depending on your model year there should
be an adjustment screw on the front section just below the barrel you need to turn it in...if nether works you need to dissemble it might be an internal issue...

The peculiar thing is that i adjusted said power screw to both extremes and the power either was so insufficient that the round didn't leave the barrel or that the max power was only enough to spit out the pellet about a foot or two away as for the trigger screw i will attempt to loosen it but i am flabbergasted as to what the heck is wrong with it.

trigger screw should be the the issue with the two stage cocking...now as to power from your explanation
sound like all the co2 is not being expelled out the valve....or somethings blocking it
was it working fine before and this just happen all of a sudden ? or
did you just get the MK1 and it was never shooting strong to begin with..?

Pull off the barrel shroud and have a look at the end of the valve stem. Maybe something is blocking the hammer from smacking the stem properly. Also check the hammer spring. Maybe it's getting weak. I have owned about a dozen Mk1 pistols and I did have one with a weak spring. Also check to make sure your barrel port lines up with the frame port.

yes that's another possibility...forgot to mention that... :wink:
if that were the case you would feel air coming out around other areas of the MK1

Please post how everything worked out with your Mk1. The above suggestions should give you some results. Also check the filter screen for debris, but I have never seen this as a problem.

Your Mk1 is over 30 years old. Springs get tired, debris accumulates, and the barrel alignment can get twisted when people mess with it. My guess is the barrel port being misaligned.

Here is an old review I did on the Crosman Mark 1. I once had a web site with many lengthy reviews but it was lost (Airgun Trivia). "KEN." was a big help with the Mk1 information, as was Leonard Joe. Anyway, someone saved it to their own web site. Oh happy day!

For anyone who was curious i ended up sending the pistol off to R&R airgun repair. He ended up having to replace the valve stem realign the barrel and did some work to the trigger she shoots like a dream now!
