I have been coming back to this forum for a while now to learn more about my new Crosman 2240 pistol and what I can do with it. A lot of you are real artists! I've been involved in shooting sports for many years. I used to shoot pistols, 45 ACP, and 22's, however my first love was airguns. As my name indicates, I grew up in the city, but I'm a country woman at heart. Once I get my 2240 up to spec, I hope to share some pictures. Until then, I'll continue to browse the archives. Thanks for letting me participate in your forum :).

Thanks! I should have it dressed up in a few weeks. I am waiting for certain grips to be back in stock, and wondering if I can find the long steel breech in Canada. I've seen some real beauties on this site and elsewhere, and hope I can end up with one as well.

Welcome,

Do you plan to do open sights or scope on the steel breech?

Make sure to find an open rear sight, I just went thru this a few weeks ago.

I think both sites have sights

Will the original sight mount to a steel breech?

I do not believe its compatible with the steel breech, I didn't even bother since I didn't like the plastic.

This is the one I found, cheaper shipped then the LPA MIM alone
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/291290558602?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

My plan was to cut the barrel shorter, but with the stock front blade/barrel I can barely see it thru the rear notch, next plan is to make/find a taller front sight blade

A good chance to try out the search engine onsite here, I did read that there was someone who had modded the original rear sight to work.

If justified, the LPA MIM looks nice, but pricey

As I've read so far the barrel on the 2240 is not sufficiently long to accommodate the co2, and I'd like to find 8-9" barrel to push the FPS, but stay below 500 FPS and keep the pistol from becoming ungainly. Also one prepared to add a traditional pistol front blade sight.
