I suppose this is what would be a fairly basic, standard modification of the 2240:

.177 Steel breech
.177 Lothar Walther barrel
Muzzle brake
Rear velocity adjuster (machined from stainless/brass by a nice fella on Ebay in Serbia)
Shoulder stock
Bug buster scope

I snipped the hammer spring a bit and together with the RVA am squeezing around 60 good shots out of it. Not sure of the velocity but will find out at some point.
I also compressed the tigger/cocking spring (or whatever it is - it's in the handle) to lighten the trigger. I overdid it to start with and it wouldn't cock so had to stretch it back out a bit. I find the trigger just fine like it is now and have no urge to take it all apart and de-burr the stamped edges etc.

At 10 m in the basement it's stacking pellets so looking forward to getting it outside at longer ranges.

Thanks!
I originally had the scope further back across the loading port but moved it forward to access the top screw for fiddling with the hammer spring without taking it off all the time.
The muzzle brake was the last thing to put on, arrived yesterday. $30+ for something that doesn't really do anything but I thought it finished the look nicely. I also installed an O-ring for the top of the transfer port last night hoping it takes away the puff of gas I can feel on my hand when it shoots; not tested it yet though to see if it works.

Nice, I need a new grip frame so I can assembly my 1740.

If its only a 10M, you can tune it down more( around 380-400 ) I got 140 shots from my other 1740.

Thanks fellas.
Yes, I will do some more experimenting some time. I went off on the quest for a 3-figure shot count after reading some of Bob's old posts on the GTA forum but the hammer spring is already very weak now such that it only pierces the CO2 with an empty shot or two as tightening the cap alone does not do it. I therefore thought I would settle with 60 for now so interesting you managed to get that many.
