Ends closing this Sunday. Various Crosman 200-250 ct, pellet tins 4.99.

HSS indexed, numbered, fractional, and lettered drill set, 115 pcs on sale 50% off. Got it for 49.00
This is the blue box Powerfist set, and the tiniest of them all appear to be straight...

Supposed to index list tap to drill sizes, but it doesn't.
Anyone know where to find a tap to drill sizing index on-line?

On-line shmon-line. . . .

Page 386 of the Pocket Ref. Pages 387-88 for Metric and Brit.

You do of course have a "Pocket Ref" in your Personal Library?. . . .

If you don't, you should. . . You, of all people; and PA even has them on sale occasionally. Great throne room book!

I actually don't have that one

Was thinking of a trip to Luke's for the machinist's handbook... what you're referencing sounds cheeper

I have been using the Brit chart at work and converting to decimal to fractional- which isn't even right for some of the tinier holes...

Post up the appropriate title so me  and the other neophytes here know what to look for...

Lookin forward to using numbered drills for a change...

Doc,

I have found this page useful:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_drill_and_tap_sizes

or this:
http://www.lincolnmachine.com/tap_drill_chart.html

I printed a chart and placed it in my tap & die kit. Saves me running to the computer!

By the way, thanks for the tip on the Wholesale Sports Sale.!

Cheers!

Thanks guys! This place is a wealth of info, as usual.

Lee Valley is one of those places that takes a serious pry-bar to get me out of...

If I go on a workday, I'll be forced to leave.....

That is the one!. . . Evidently I've been left in the dust, as the current 4th edition is 864 pages, and my 2nd edition is only a meager 542. . . :(
I suspect that my page references above, may not be accurate to the latest version. . .

Awesome little book! Now, potentially even 59% more so.

Got it. 8) Worth it's weight in metal mags at least - for the drill information alone.

16 and change otd, taxes incl.

Drill info starts around pg. 654...

Lil black book confirms what I've been suspecting for a while now: the 7/64" drill (closest fractional) is a bit big for 8 x 32....

Thanks guys.

It's been a long time since I was last in there at L/V. Prices are getting into the very high zone for some items....
