Sig Sauer MCX...uses 88/90 gram CO2 cartridges. I ordered a AirVenturi regulated HPA tank (3,000 psi fill/1,100 psi regulated output) to save on cartridge expense.

Shot off a bench at 10 meters using a UTG 3-9x32 AO scope...1.5 inch group was the best I could get...kind of disappointed in the velocity and accuracy of the gun...I wonder what pellet they used to get 700 fps?

I believe they are using a 5.25 gr Ballistic Alloy pellet and all the reviews I have seen by others the guns still fall short of advertised fps.

I was excited about Canadian availability but both accuracy and fps are inadequate for the price point imo. Thanks for sharing your experience.

It's the same with there Sig 226 pellet pistol. It's such a shame lol from that kind of company.

I had a go on the MPX recently and it was a fun little plinker. I thought the magazine design was good and it felt good to hold and shoulder. However, as others have noted, the fps was well below the advertised 600+. with most shots being in the 300-400 fps range.

It's a real shame because they look great and are a ton of fun to shoot.

What makes it more surprising is the fact that those low power results are with HPA and not CO2. I can't imagine how poor the performance would be after a few dozen shots with an 88 gr, $16 CO2 disposable.

You can’t buy a single airgun for everything. Golfers use many different clubs, airgunners need more than one gun

I got a hold of the Sig 5.25 gr alloy pellets and did some testing.

On C02 slow fire they averaged 610 fps (still way off the claimed capability of up to 750 fps)
rapid fire as fast as you could pull the trigger (30 rounds) averaged 480 fps

On the regulated HPA bottle slow and rapid fire averaged 579 fps

For guns capable of rapid firing the regulated HPA bottle is clearly the way to go....579 fps vs 480 fps on C02

Although I plan to shoot this gun mainly on HPA I can get 90 gram disposables for $7.45 each delivered free.
