with the time goes, unwittingly I "saved" up "some" wasted lead pellets already... just throw them into the gray garbage bin? It looks I should not do that...

Any experience?!

Donate them to your local muzzleloaders. Ask at your local shooting stores to see if they are interested in free soft lead. Handgunners can mix it with harder lead for casting bullets. Possibly a fishing store could connect you with someone who makes sinkers and jig heads. I use mine crap lead to cast slingshot ammo.

You do not have a local gun range? Most all pellets are pure lead. Pure lead is needed by muzzleloading gun shooters for casting round balls or bullets that engrave the rifling upon firing.

We get out pure lead for $0.50 per pound - that's about 1/16" thick sheet lead from X-ray room rebuilds & usually 600 pounds at a time. This usually lasts until they re-build the X-ray room again - about 8-10 years.

Do your bullets glow in the dark? Do YOU now glow in the dark? There has to be a reason they are replacing the lead...

nope... didn't hear about it yet (a thread talking about it some days before, but without the online info, I was too lazy to search it... but it looks still too far for me...)

Seriously? Re-designing, re-building, re-rejuvenating rooms is why the X-ray rooms get stripped and re-built elsewhere in the Hospitals. Ever had an X-ray in a hospital or at the dentist? Do you glow?

As in take up muzzleloading shooting & casting your own balls and bullets. These run from .32(140 bore) to 4 bore.

No, I wasn't too serious. Just speculating/kidding. I would think that the lead, IF it tended to retain radiation, being exposed to radiation many times a day over several years, would be worse than the occasional X-ray. I don't suppose they would sell it to you if there was a danger, they'd probably have to dispose of it properly.

Should likely do better than I do with my used lead. Perhaps send it to China so they can put it in paint and send it back in kids toys.
