Finally got myself a very impressive .177 pellet version of the Webley MK VI revolver in ‘battlefield finish’.
Placed an order with AGS on Friday and found its way Ontario to Quebec in 48 hours !!
Outstanding arrival as it was delivered to my door on a Sunday morning !!! Yes…Canada Post delivered on a week-end to my very enjoyable surprise to have my airgun for the week-end.

Here’s a first quick look and a few observations I wanted to share.
I have to admit that I had been ‘wanting’ one of these Webley and Scott replica airgun revolvers in pellet version and battlefield finish since they were first shown on YouTube from the UK almost 20 months ago. I wasn’t inclined to acquire the first BB Service Revolver versions in ‘all black’ metal work when they became available to us in Canada a while ago. I wanted something that looked ‘used’ and like the ones that were seen in the period movies. So this is what it looks like when opening the ‘antique’ looking box. I was very pleased:






The revolver finish is ‘special’ and was heavily coated in oil and grease and the cartridges were also coated enough so that I had to wipe down everything so as not to leave any oil marks on the booklet after handling the revolver.
The airgun is hefty at the stated 2.1 lbs but is so well balanced that it doesn’t feel heavy in hand and when held outstretched in firing position. The trigger breaks at around 3.5 lbs so can’t be called ‘light’ with the hammer cocked in Single Action. But then again..this is not a ‘match target pistol’ either.
One aspect that I have noticed while gripping and handling the revolver that is annoying. While wrapping my fingers around the grip with my right hand, the knuckle of my middle finger comes in contact with the rear of the Trigger guard. I have medium narrow hands and would say ‘average’ length fingers. While the trigger guard opening was designed to be large to accommodate the wearing of gloves by military soldiers and officers, it would seem to not accommodate large hands and fingers. Just saying.
While peering down the barrel from the breach the rifling is rather ubiquitous. I plan on cleaning the barrel before conducting any test firing with a small variety of pellets and will forthcomingly write-up a more complete Review to post here on the CAF.

I have the Black BB version and the Nickel Pellet version, will have to ask Santa for this one!

Beau revolver Richard!

My Dad had one of the post war re-furbs in 38 S&W. Learned quickly to lower my third finger on the grips, even with mild target hand-loads. Yours looks to be an accurate rendition~ the top break release lever marks on the left side plate approximate the real deal. Congrats on the new pellet pistol.

Did you ever do the pellet testing?
I ask because I have recently purchased the same gun and would love to know what pellets you found to be most accurate. So far I have only tried two types of Beemans and both were pretty good.

I would, if I had any!

I didn't pursue extensive testing of different pellets beyond the CPH and Crosman 7577 (wadcutter). Both at 7.4gr and performed as well and lead me to think that the revolver is not 'pellet picky'. I do 'seat' each pellet in their cartrige before loading in the Receiver however. Have noticed less flyers with seated pellets.
