Hello everyone,

Joined the forum a while back and thought it high time to introduce myself. After a 30 year hiatus I'm back into the sport of target shooting and possibly a little pest control. I grew up in the Hamilton-Wentworth area of Southern Ontario, and received my first air rifle, a Crosman PowerMaster 760 as a kid in the mid sixties for Christmas, pretty much wearing it out during many a camping expedition along the banks of the Grand River. My dad was an avid sportsman and hunter, so being around all manner of firearm as a kid was the norm. Sadly, my dad passed away long before he could witness me obtaining my first hunting license at age 16, but through his inspiration I enjoyed many years of duck and deer hunting with powder burners as well as hour upon hour of target shooting in the basement with my trusty PowerMaster 760 BB gun.

After moving to the West Coast in the early eighties it was on very rare occasion I went hunting, and with the introduction of the long gun registration, I decided to sell off all my rifles and shotguns. Flash forward 30 + years and the wife has me out one summer afternoon on an outdoor paint ball rally with some of her coworkers ....... Ouch! It was fun for a day but not really my bag. Literally, one is well advised to wear some protection in sensitive areas when partaking of that sport! On the other hand, the experience renewed my interest in air rifles and target shooting, so here I am at age 59, being a kid all over again! I noticed this seems to be a common thread across many of the new members -old guys revisiting their youth, and why not! This is a great sport, and with so many fine air rifles to choose from these days compared to those available in yesteryear, well, kid in a candy store my friends, kid in a candy store!

In any case, just wanted to say hello and look forward to contributing, communicating, and sharing stories with other members of this forum.

Cheers!

Aaron

I wonder how many of us had the PowerMaster 760 as their first rifle. Sure was a good choice.

Welcome Arron. similar story, but I had been using a 1322 for many years, 'plinking' around the jail when working "prowl". I switched to

a .44 Mag. and .45 ACP in the fall with the bear problems. The Air Pistol was fun, though and kept me interested enough to evolve into

air rifle - springers and PCP. At 67, I AM a kid again with air toys.
