Good point about having adjustment in the seal-to-barrel connection. An o-ring at the muzzle would still allow you to tap the barrel back but it might not be secure enough to hold tight. I guess the slightly oval frame hole with two set screws would be best but I'm not fond of threads in a plastic frame. There doesn't seem to many options though. A tight frame hole might cause breakage when the barrel is levered to get it into the saddle and strap section. Now I understand why the OEM design has the stepped end on the barrel that forces the proper breach gap.

Any more ideas for securing the end of the barrel?

"Pistol Mods" on YouTube, I believe the same gentleman that made the slide extender went a whole different route. He has made the barrel of his P17 float and closes on the breech Oring with a Bolt action Mod. Ingenious for sure...just a little too much work for what I wanted.
