Hello guys ~

These days I read the reviews and watch the videos, pictures etc and found the skyrocketing high priced P1 looks worth the money if you have the money to spend on a pistol like that. ( Still a lot cheaper than the PCPs, right?! [emoji16] )

But I have some questions.... Don't know if ppl here owned or have experience on this gun...

I don't think I will have interest on the 177 as its detuned again.

But for the .22, DL said it's 430fps, but airgun depot said it's 500fps .. Who's correct? Or the Canadian .22 is detuned too?!

And, if there is same like HW40 anf P17, except the import process and package, the same 2 guns of P1 and HW45?!

And the P11 looks like the HW45 Silver Star, but the muzzle speed rating from Airgun Depot just 400fps (.22)? Looks is a different model... Am I right?

Cheers ~

Beeman did not authorize a Chinese copy of the P1/HW45. Your choice is the Weihrauch HW45 or the Beeman label P1.

My .22 HW45 was purchased back in 2002. Velocity was an honest 425fps with 14.2-14.5 grain pellets. The review was dumped by my server many years ago but you might still be able to read it at this link.

HW45 is the original version by Weihrauch
P1 is the American version sold under Beeman

P11 is the same as the Silverstar
P3 is the same as the HW40, the P17 is just a Chinese copy

Could you imagine a Chinese P45??......

The velocities should be all the same. Only difference is the detuned Canadian .177. Don’t fall victim to sale tactics on US sites. I would follow D&L’s advertisements.
I have a few of these pistols in .22 but with all the barrels. HW45 of course, silly to pay more in Canada for the Beeman name. However if you like, I think the Beemans come with standard sights and HW45s all come with truglo sights now and you will have to search for an older one without them, if that’s your preference.

Amazing pistol. Solid built, consistent, accurate and stylish in a category of its own.

One P1, and have all 3 barrels, right?
I think you won't get a .177 and then bought the other 2 barrels but had a .20 or .22 first instead, right?

Actually I am thinking this too... Once I get a .22 then buy a 177 barrel to replace on it... It will become the RPAL, 600fps .177.... I think the barrel swapping just as easy as it the HW40/ P3, right?

Just don't fall into the ditch, right?

But the detuned 177 still has its advantage as the pellet will fly flatter for a longer distance (as read from other reviews...)

Thanks so much for the information ~ really appreciated ~

I think I had locked my target on the HW45, Black Star .22 then. I like the laminated grip better as IMO, the original 1911style grip make the gun looks a bit too normal and not balanced well ( too big and long in the muzzle and too small on the butt )...

Oh, forgot to mention, some review mentioned the recoil of the HW45 just feel so good and so reality just like the real blow back from the firearm as the spring is slammed from the muzzle to the hammer direction... Does it really feels so good?? [emoji16]

I think I need to add a new bank account to start saving and put every unnecessary spents to the individual account for my new collection then ~

My P1 came as a .20cal......I purchased the .22 and .177 for it so I wouldn't be restricted to just one caliber.

It does have a sense of recoil, it takes a lot of practice. It’s not quite the same as even a 22lr powder burner pistol but it’s more than the recoiless P3/P17. It does feel nice tho :)

The Black star is a good choice. I would contact D&L first to check for availability before you start the long road of penny pinching.
It’s definitely worth while too to find the .20 and .177 barrels

Cheers,

Is it easy to find parts for the P1 / HW45 on a reasonable price?
Like barrel, springs...

all depends on pellet used and what its made of, on my hw45 .22 anyways.
From 369 for chp 14.3 , 404 for rws shp, and 448 for either beeman lasers or hobbies, cant remember which one. Seems to like shp so far, more then jsb 5.52 15.89 at 415. As long as it flips my metal targets im ok with speed and fpe, it seems to like shp so far.

D&L Airgun should have springs and seals for the HW45. You can also get them from Beeman-USA or Vortek in the USA. Macarri might even have a custom spring available.

The HW45 recoil is pleasant. The original Colt 1911 shot a fat and heavy .45cal bullet so the .22cal in the HW45 suits the design, IMO. I did reasonably well with .22cal out to 40 yards.

There is something you need to know about the SilverStar version. It has a sweet grip but you don't have other options. If I remember correctly, the frame shank is shortened for the wooden grip so slab side panels no longer work. The regular frame has options such as rubber "Colt 1911" Hogue or Pachmyar grips. I put a Pach grip with finger grooves on my HW45.

Interesting ~

I think I will be okay with the laminated original grips. IMO, about a hundred bucks for just 2 piecees of wood looks a bit over priced ~ [emoji16][emoji16]

What I am afraid of is the original grips would be too large for me. My hands are small size and the grips looks big ~
