You can get your own domain and hosting for less. You can download all your photos from photobucket with one click.

Your quote dates from June 30 of last year.... The "Premium" account I linked to in the first post is new within the last month (Jan. 1? ) and specifically allows 3rd Party Hosting, and mentions "Forum Enthusiasts" as a target clientele.... I guess I'll find out....

If not, all my threads will "go dark" as of Jan. 1, 2019.... because I don't have $400/yr to invest in sharing my data....

Bob, your newer info suggests that, yes, they may have come to their senses, and I believe that to be highly probable. There is no power in a site with its only asset being betrayed followers. Who knows; in the future it may be the 3rd-party hosts (CAF, for example) who become the clients of services such as Photobucket; they pay for the rights for their members to use Photobucket (and the member's free account) as a means of posting image content. Who knows, but one thing we do know:

You have invested far more than $400 per year on your contributions to this and other airgun forums; Preserving access to that information would have to be a priority for any person or organization involved in the process of creating and maintaining an active presence of discussion among airgun enthusiasts. No enthusiast in their right mind would allow that wisdom to vanish.

But you're right; we'll all find out how this unfolds. Your newer information suggests it is unfolding as it should - for the time being.

Cheers.

Paddy, even if I had another place to host the photos.... who is going to change all the 10,000 or more links currently on the airgun Forums, even if you could find them all?....

Edmonton, thanks for the kind words.... much appreciated.... We can only hope that this new "solution" continues to be "affordable"....

At this point, people need to install the photobucket patch, otherwise most peoples photos are not going to work.

For me, the patch works sometimes, other times not. Seems hit and miss. Over the last few months, I have been returning photos from photobucket to my computer - takes only one click,

but one click per photo. Besides 40 albums, some with over 100 photos, I had 60 pages of photos in the library. It is time consuming. This site and ALR both have photo-uploading features which

are really nice, but will not handle MP-4's.
