I didn't use much HN pellets... I remember I have one tin of 22, then I am using the second tin, a tin of 177.

Don't know it's the special design or the molding? I found the HN pellets don't have a smooth, shiny skin but looks, feels 'rusty', rough... Anyone have some knowledge on it?

So far there are only two tins through my hands, and the first tin I sold it soon as I don't like the 'rusty' feel and didn't shot many with it. And the second tin I am using have good accuracy and feeds well on my HW40. But I still have some concern on the touch of the pellet...

I have been shooting the H&N Field Target Trophy dome pellet with nice accuracy results. Great pellet. What H&N pellet looked rusty to you?

The HN looks a matt finish, not shiny like other pellets, and touch it with finger tip, it feels rough...

I just took some pictures of the 177 finale match and the RWS yellow tin... The color of the rws looks shiny silver and the HN looks light gray without shine in the light...

It just look rusty to me, but I don't believe it's rust either. Want to know if it's some kind of special design.... I know in the flows ( water flow, air flow is similar), smooth is not better than rough ( coarse ), the best example is sharks are fastest fishes and they have coarse skin. And hunman learned this to make the shark suit for swimmers and it did help to improve scores ~ ImageImageImage

Made a closer zoom on the rws to let them look the same size ( zoom level)... Image
