I have the A/V pen in .177, and like it a lot. Like anything else a/g related, it takes a bit of practice. I rapidly developed a feel for friction on the "slider", and it works well for seating depth control.

Breech on my optimus is severely under-cut, and some pellets simply will not load at all~ like the over dia. skirted Crosman Pirhana...
No problems at all with Crosman milk carton points.

That pen really cuts loading time with the SAA Colt revolvers. I use it through the loading gate, and it is very fast compared to the thumb and fore-finger fumble I was doing before.

@Doc Sharptail How would those pens work for an Airhawk that pellets fit extremely lose in and always fall out upon closing the gun? Would it seat them deeper for a better fit? I do have 3 tins of Crosman pointed that fit in no other pellet guns that fit my Airhawk tight. I try to run same pellets in most guns. If they don't like the pellets the gun goes. LOL CHEERS!

I tried a ball point pen, minus the point, for seating pellets to the same depth (used the chrome head as a gauge). I shot at 20 yards and found the groups ran vertically, 1 1/2" spread. With just my finger tip seating them, the groups are right back to round clusters from 1/4" to 3/8" in my HW98 .22.
At that point, I gave up the impromptu pellet seater as useless.
I would indeed try a commercial unit if I had one, but alas, I must do without.

I dunno. The 1st version air-hawk I had was so loose the milk carton points would fall through the bore. Not sure any kinda seater would cure that....

Thank you. Milk carton wadcutters are what I run in the gun. My other two Airhawks are fine with same pellets. Mine don't go through the barrel but no identifiably "lock in click" that happens with most of my rifles.
