Hi folks,

My friend just bought a Remington Airmaster 77 which is almost the same as the Crosman 2100 from what I have been reading. It is made by Crosman with the Remington name on it.

I'm wondering if anyone knows much about this gun and if their are any modifications that can be done.

Does it have a bleeder hole in the valve like some of the other non-PAL "de-tuned" guns ? Does anyone have a schematic that they could post a link to ?

Thanks for any help,

CHBAD

I guess no one has any experience with this gun at all ? Maybe it's not that popular to work on ?

yes there are a few mods that can be done but not alot
and for the power you gain its best to just leave it alone and get a gun thats worthy to mod...

I have a Canadian Remington 77, fun gun... I would also like some info on what can be easily modded. And also what de-tuning Crosman did to it.

- I've read it's pretty tricky putting the gun back together once it's appart, any hints on this? - I have the "Exploded Parts list" diagram for the Crosman 2100 from thier website which kinda shows where everything goes but that's not always gonna get the thing together so any info would greatly help!

P.S. This is the gun I have, I'm just getting into Air Guns and don't have a lot of $$$ so I'm stuck with this gun for now (like it so far!). So getting a better gun for modding is not an option for me!

Crosman added in a safty blow out valve to the bottom of the main valve, the only thing you can do is fil it with epoxy or lead to get better performance, keep in mind do this and its now pal rated and if you dont have a pal and its not registered you can get in crap for it , the registery is not down yet so be carefull what you mod
the part in question will not be listed or shown on the print you need to get crosman to send you the canadian print, the guns are a royal pain in the neck to put back togeter as well bit tricky but not to bad once you have done it a few times..

Thanks for the info airsmith282,

I may actually look into getting my Pal at some point and then get a real airgun but for now I'm just shooting tin cans and paper targets.

It would be nice if they made the guns somehow where the blowout only happend after a certain PSI... then they could limit the FPS without limiting everything else such as the difference between number of pumps to get up to 499 FPS... I really don't mind if my gun doesn't go over 500 FPS but as it is now, I gotta pump and pump and pump to get it there (cause of the blow out valve) while the same gun without the blow out will most likely take a lot less pumps to get the same resaults.

That's just the way she Blows... ! lol

Any other mods available for the Remington 77?

Just curious...

If so, what are they?

I took the Remington 77 appart today... for others to know... there is a Bleed Hole in the main valve as well as a Restrictor Washer under a rubber O Ring.
The gun wasn't as hard to put together as some have stated...

Hi, I have a 2100 classic. What they use to call the 77AM few years back when i got it at Canadian Tire. Other things you can do is;
make custom wood stock
paint it like a 2200 !
replace shroud with longer one and make new spacers for tight fit, 5/8x0.034'' tube
add a decent scope (leapers 6-24x50 for me)
*it might be possible to insert washers and spacers in the shroud cavity similar to the marauder but it might be considered as an illegal mod*

There are things you can do.

I have a 2100, which I belive is basically the same gun. Since I live in Norway, it is full power.

What I have done so far is:

-remove the BB-feed, I just shoot pellets, and the bb-feed makes assmbly even more difficult.
-shim the rear end of the barrel sleeve with thin tape, to remove play and thereby improve accuracy.
-polish the mating surfaces of ther trigger, sear and striker.
-polish the sides of the trigger.
-cut a coil of the sear spring
-bend the trigger return spring a bit.
-shim the trigger and related parts so they dont rub against the frame.

All this gives a better trigger and a tiny bit more accurate gun, it does not improve power.

Other possible mods are:
-new pellet probe with a better seal, the original really does not seal good.
-possible valve improvements, maybe open the volume a bit.
-install a longer barrel, have been thinking to a 1760barrel to fit.
