Hello again everyone.

I have been a member here for some time, but used to live in South Africa. I was the Falcon Optics (and Anschutz, Steyr, Walther, Hammerli and Tesro) distributor for South Africa, and I was a member of the South African Air Rifle Field Target Team. As I competed at the top level myself, I have a fair bit of knowledge about the rifles and scopes used.

We moved from South Africa to Calgary, Canada in September 2011.

I have been asked by a few people (including the factory) to start importing the Falcon scopes to Canada.

I am pleased to announce that I have placed a first order for Falcon T50 Field Target scopes. There are many scopes suitable for FT, but there is NOTHING in the market that beats the Falcon T50 on a value-for-money basis. It is arguably the best FT scope for the money. Other than spending $3600 for a March scope, this is probably the best scope for FT for under $2000. Yes, you can use a nice Leupold Competition scope, but the standard reticles are not great for FT, and it's pretty difficult for non-experts to use a fixed mag scope for FT to acquire targets quickly - especially where targets are placed in dark shaded areas.... Ask me, I've been there....

They should retail around the $750 mark. They come with a lifetime warranty, and the warranty is backed up by Falcon Optics in the UK.

The T50 is a dedicated Field Target scope, and is a 10-50x60 scope with a 30mm main tube. It comes with 2 x 50mm sunshades (factory only supplies 1 sunshade - I will supply an extra 1 to make it 100mm in length) and a factory supplied sidewheel - it's around 90mm in diameter.

I can also supply aftermarket sidewheels - they are 5" to 5.25" in diameter and come in a "standard" look and a "custom" look. Prices to be determined. I can supply photos of the sidewheels if you are interested. Just PM me your e-mail address.

Falcon scopes have not really been available in Canada, until now. I will normally keep stock, but otherwise I could have them with about 3 weeks lead time if my stock is sold out.

The scopes have a "standard" mildot reticle in the 2nd focal plane. Minimum focus distance varies between around 8 to 9m.

They come in 2 configurations - 1/8 MOA turrets or MRAD. The MRAD equates to around 1/6 MOA and this is what I ordered. The 1/8 MOA models will only be available again around December 2012. The more popular choice in the North American and European markets at the moment, is the MRAD units, where the 1/8 MOA units are more popular in the UK market.

Thanks for the question. The export permit should be ready in 10 -15 days from now, and then shipping customs should take another week. To be on the safe side, I would guess around end of September - maybe a few days sooner.

If anyone is in a rush, please let me know you want one, so I can order some extra ones, or you might have to wait a couple of weeks again for a next shipment. I will not order huge quantities at a time as these are kind of specialised scopes built for FT and there are not too many people looking for FT scopes in Canada.

I can obviously order any other scope Falcon makes too for centrefire rifles etc...

Here is a photo of some of the sidewheels.... Top one is a "custom" wheel, and middle and bottom are the "standard" wheels. They are "hand made" and no two look exactly the same. They are not cheap unfortunately because of the huge amount of time and effort to produce and shipping costs and taxes to get them from the UK to Canada. "Standard" wheel would be roughly $120 and "custom" around the $150 mark.

The supplied sidewheel is pretty much all you need - this is just some "nice-to-have BLING".

I've had two Falcon scopes on my centrefire rifles, and they ARE superb. Buy two!

I just got mine yesterday and so far it looks very good. Falcon has changed the elevation turret from the three grub screw attachment that some were complaining about on the forums to a single hex bolt in the top of the turret.

The packaging smells like it was stored in a damp cellar, but the contents are all top notch.

Robbie was quite good to deal with and communications were excellent.

I'll report back once I've actually tried it out.

Glad it got there OK Dave.

Interesting comment on the smell of the packaging. It got to me well packed in a huge container - I cut the container up to make new sturdy packaging for shipment to you and the other customers. I wonder if when shipping from me to you, the packaging didn't get damp somehow, as it arrived from the UK just fine with FedEx. And I did not notice any funny smells. And it was on my house for less than 24 hours, and no dampness here. It's a brand new house with no animals or smoke whatsoever.

Anyway, as long as it is all in perfect working order. I hope you will have great shooting with it.

What mounts with windage and/or elevation adjustment would you suggest for these scopes?

See if you could find SportsMatch ATP61 (windage adjustable) or ATP66 (windage and elevation fully adjustable mounts).

ATP66 probably a little overkill with windage and height adjustment. We mostly used ATP61 with only windage adjustment.

SportsMatch are really awesome mounts.

They have a few Canadian distributors. If you can't find any, try Michael Tawn from the UK on Ebay. His prices are good.
