I think it was the right move. If the constabulary is close to the scene, they'll know about it, one way or another. They can't just walk onto private property and "investigate." Shooting guns on "permissioned" land is not illegal. If there is "just cause" to suspect laws are being broken, and "immediate safety" is an issue, their first step is to present that case to the landowner. "Immediate safety" concerns will probably grant them immediate access, but, of course is challengeable in court. As much as I disagree with the manner in which RCMP corporate has abused their powers, there are still some rights left that usurp.

Advising the RCMP of an unusual "gun" event in their territory is not an invitation to invade and persecute. It is a courtesy that will gain you a lot more points, especially in a rural area, than "FU, we can do what we want on your own land."

With all due respect to opposing opinions, which are wrong.

You haven't heard anything yet. Should I have couched it with IMO, IMHO, JMO? Absolutely redundant. It's obvious it's my opinion: I said it. Go puff up your feathers elsewhere; that's when I really shine.

Do whatever you want, but in the process, try to get over yourself...You seem to think your a pretty big deal, of course with all due respect to your opinion, which is wrong

So you don't like purchasing protocols and restrictive measures for airguns, but unnecessarily involving police in a shooting event is just fine? You make no sense, but I guess eventually you will fall off the fence...enjoy the ride
