With the highest respect for your knowledge and experience, Joe, I'll say that the idea is only 20% of that needed to turn it into a profit-generating idea. The other 80% is marketing. Marketing based on a business plan that provides fundamental research saying that your idea is is sound (e.g., the comments you are now gathering from the target market, the knowledge that your idea is not currently described in active patents, etc.)

If you're truly interested in turning your idea into a profit-making business, it's time to bring business (not technology) partners into the mix and find an investor. He/She/They will provide the research and development funds, as well as initial manufacturing costs. In our "melting-pot" continent and country, opportunities abound to access foreign money for credible ideas is virtually limitless. I'll talk more privately about that if you like.

In the meantime, regardless of the obvious brilliance of your idea, It is now out there on UTube and on the forums. Proceed with a level of efficiency and expediency that a single person cannot achieve.

I'd buy one in a heartbeat, and I'll go on your channel and say that. Money, however, usually has the louder voice, and it doesn't have to be yours.

Sounds like having auto or home insurance is less protection than not having it.

More research on the need for a patent appears to be necessary. If the design is unique, it must be protected. If it's not protected, there's nothing to prevent it being copied and the guy who developed it simply bypassed and ignored. Intellectual property should be protected, despite what those well intentioned but poorly informed "most people" allege. It may be necessary to consider ways to raise capital to protect the design, perhaps in partnership with others also interested in profit.

If what We have created requires us or me, to enter into a ratrace of lawyers, courts, investors,s etc...etc... plus the stress associated with it, then I just as soon leave it as a one of a kind gun, which I own and enjoy.

It is unfortunate that this idea came to me at such a late time in my life. Building these in our own shop in small batches, of say 100 guns, would be totally doable, if I were a younger man. We get to work on the new market ready prototype, one day a week, and even that, wears us both out. I can't even imagine spending "every day" in the shop for 10 hours. A CNC machine would be a worthy purchase. However... then theres the red tape of Canadian business to deal with, and THAT, I can not deal with.

Speaking of the Market prototype we are building. All the parts we have so far,,,"FAR" exceed our expectations. Its turning out very nicely, and the working parts we have been able to test so far, also exceed the original prototype, in function and looks. The max power level might be lower, but not under 12 ft lbs, but it will be easy to pump, shoot, and easy on the eyes. Featuring blued steel, anodized aluminum, and Walnut.
