Thinking of selling off my Hatsans and buying a FX Streamline. Just not sure which caliber to buy. I have a at44 in 177 (single shot) and 22 and a BT65 in 25. I tend to use the .25 for pest control (ground squirrels and magpies) so thinking a Streamline in .25 but I like the more compact rifle of the .22 (almost 5 inches shorter). Not sure if it is a big deal or not as the lengths are close to the Hatsans I have and yes the AT44 is more maneuverable than the BT65 but it is not an complete deal breaker. .22 works well on everything I am dealing with but the .25 definitely puts things down easier. Decisions, Decisions? Opinions?

I've got a Hammerli Pneuma in .22 (same as AT44), and upgraded to a Streamline as well in .22. Have had no issues with the Streamline. The increased accuracy should make up for the smaller caliber. I've also heard that the Streamline was designed for .22, and is most accurate in that caliber. My Streamline has become ridiculously accurate, I think it'll be just fine for your pesting requirements in .22.

I second what Barfman said, superb accuracy, adjustable power and shot count should make up the difference between .25 and .22. I also own a BT65, and use it primarily for long range FT. .22 is probably the most versatile calibre and the cost of pellets most economical. The Streamline is also a much lighter rifle, lending itself well for your pesting needs, IMHO. Of all my current rifles, the FX is the airgun I seem to shoot the most.

Cheers!

Just won the Pyramyd Air Cup, hunter PCP, with my 177 FX Streamline with the x-barrel mod against 49 other people. It's a very nice gun...
