What sort of adapter, connector etc are needed to run a QB78 off a refillable bulk paintball CO2 tank - and is that idea any good?

I believe this is what you require:

Although, I don't remember where I bought mine from.

So those are for a tethered tank with a connection hose, correct?

No, you can fill the tube and remove the hose.

Interesting, so there's a valve within the connector? I assume when using 2 caplets they vent into the tube then and the whole thing holds pressure?
How many shots do you get from bulk filling the tube?

I see, isn't that about the same as the 2 caplets? I don't know much about QB's but may the 79 might be more what I am looking for, just realized that one has a large CO2 tank.

You get quite a few more shots than the 2 cartridges as long as you get liquid co2 into the gun not just gas. You do that by making sure the co2 tank is quite a bit warmer than the gun and then tipping the tank upside down when filling. If you don't get a temp difference you'll end up with not much co2 in the gun. You can also attach a paintball remote line and run it with the tank attached if you want.
One big way to get more shots without losing power is to take the back end of the gun apart to get at the hammer spring. It needs to cut a few coils off because it wastes a lot of co2 without gaining power. Cut a coil at a time til it starts to drop in velocity. You'll need a chrony because it'll start to get quieter before it loses velocity and you'll think it's shooting slower but it's not.
These are fun guns to work on! To get the safety off put it in the neutral position and tap it out with a punch. You need to do that to get the stock off. Then take off the trigger guard and the one bolt in front of the trigger in the stock and you'll be able to remove the stock.
I think there is a little spring etc that you should avoid losing for the safety when taking off the trigger, so do it on a blanket or tray.
All the best,
Wes

How noisy are these rifles? Compared to the 2240? My 2240 is pretty poppy. Not very neighbour friendly...

Looks like one the same on the forum store but without the push-fit connector. Alternatively, the one Wes pointed to has the connector but is straight instead of offset. The listing for that says you use it with the original cap after drilling out the centre, hard to do?
So could one of those be used with a hose to a bulk CO2 tank? In that configuration, could it use gas not liquid and would that make for better consistency?

Or... there's a "JT CO2 adapter" for the 88g cylinders - anyone know if that would that screw into one of these end cap adapters (probably straight one better than offset in that case)?

Those will work with a qb79 but not the Qb78 without a bunch of fittings to make it work.

I saw that Chris, it's listed for QB78 but on the GMAC website it says QB79. I think it is an error but have asked Raman to clarify.
