It's been some time since I did anything with East Coast Airgunner and haven't been out shooting in almost a year. Since then I've gone back to my musical passions and started up a recording studio in partnership with a good freind of mine.

Oddly enough there's still dozens of folx joining the facebook page weekly and I simply don't have time to manage it so I've decided to shut down the East Coast Airgunner website and facebook page here within a few weeks.

I will be leaving the youtube channel alive until I can archive all the videos and will decide later if I want to remove those as well.

Another big reason is that as I get older I'm starting to gain a better appreciation of all life and I don't see the need to be out there taking life away from wildlife who can't read bylaws or know silly borders dictated by humans. I'll still keep all the guns and continue to shoot but now it'll be the occasional tin can instead of what we consider "nuisance wildlife" and "invasive species" I finally realized that we as humans are the invasive species.

I want to thank everyone who supported my East Coast Airgunner adventures during the last few years, it was fun while it lasted. Cheers!

~Vance

Well,

We homo sapiens are just another animal species yes, we are not inherently invasive, but yes, a lot of what we do, especially in the modern day, makes life hard for other species, and then we call them a "nuisance" when we are the ones who built things over where they live, etc. We are also an arrogant species which is why the majority of us are unfortunately devoted to denying the fact that we are animals.

The way I see it it's okay to kill animals when attacked (includes your pets, live stock, of course) or for food, but not for much else.

It's sad that you are shutting things down, but we all have to move on with life eventually.

It's good to hear you still still be gunning, and don't worry that it's just at cans or paper, that's all I do anyways! :drinkers:

Hi Sonic

Sorry to see you go . I enjoyed all of your episodes for what they were without prejudice and judgement .As far as I know you are the only Canadian contributor . Air gunning can be a lot more than hunting or pest removal . Field Target and collecting have kept me interested long after the hunting a pest removal stages of my hobby . Of all things I enjoy in this life ,music is one of my most valued ones . I have no talent or ability myself but I do love to watch others perform .

Cheers to you and your new endeavours .

Peter

Hi Sonic, I'm new to the sport and had no idea ECA existed. Looking forward to check out your vids. After 43 years of playing live and 2 recording studios I decided to become a stay home musician. It's ironic that a year or so ago I got hooked on air gunning and can be an expensive hobby just like buying new recording gear, guitars ,amps etc etc etc. At least when I was playing I was making some $$'s. All the best in your new endeavours.
Rob
