Hello Guys~ how's your holiday? Looks it rained every where this weekend...

Recently read a few old catalogues and guns, learned the famous hold sensitive and recoils on a springer is not always... We have the recoiless springers... Like the famous FWB, rifles, pistols, there were some models are recoiless, and looks all of them are side-levers...

Any connection between the side lever and recoiless?

Anyone own one or shot one? How's it feels?

Is this special design reliable and long lasting?

And why it's so un-popular and hard to find? Just because too expensive?

Too many questions... Waiting your 2 cents and hope I would collect those 2 cents to make a 20 dollar?! [emoji38]

I don't know of any recoiless spring pistols but definitely the FWB line is well know for their rifles. I've never shot one myself. There is no connection to side-lever and recoiless other than they happen to be on the same rifle. I would say the reverse about popularity. Only available used and normally sold within minutes of posting up for sale. Still used but not in higher level competition due to co2 and now pcp. Those systems are just better for many reasons. I'll own one someday.

The FWB 65 pistol is one of the recoiless springers and said using the same system as the rifle...

I do have a FWB 80 as well, kind of the up model from the 65. Great gun!

Yep Yep found some other places he could spend some money,,,,
Diana 54 is another "recoil-less" side lever springer. As I understand it the action rides on a sledge so the recoil is not imparted through the stock. Of course there is always a recoil, physics has to be obeyed, it is just that the action moves and the stock not so much. I have read about ppl getting hit in the eye by the scope, which is attached to the action and comes back with force when fired. Which reminds me, the scope needs to be springer rated on recoil-less springers. IMO, these would be interesting to try, but takes the fun out of it. Like putting an auto transmission in a Corvette. :drinkers:

Still keep saving..... A FWB 65/80 may need about a thousand... Maybe the Diana is cheaper, still a lot to me... Need to pay my mortgage first, right?!

Isn't the Corvettes use +/– flips to change gears now?! [emoji38] (maybe later, there is a ECO button on the dash board too.... [emoji38] )

So! That's the true 'artillery hold'... But not performed by the shooter, instead, the gun action do the job for the shooter...

Here is a bit of history on recoilless spring air pistols https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tyDTwpEDLg

I have a RWS/Diana model 6; it truly is recoilless.

It's impressive to see such vintage air guns performed so well after so many years of usages...

The video is just awesome and informatively!!

The history of the recoiless competition purpose air guns is so interesting!

It looks the recoil decrease system in the Hatsan Mod25 is a bit similar to the "slide action", however you can still feel the recoil, but makes it not that hold sensetive as the grip and the action is not binded together as one piece... And we do need the springer rated scope for these kinds of springers as the recoils not works on our hands but fully 100% on the things attached on the action. (Be careful of scoped eye~ )

And I also learned another reason of why now we only see the PCP competion airguns in the matches that I never noticed before... continuously cocking your gun for 60 times in a match is really a big job other than aiming and shooting... It's no wonder the competitor besides you who didn't need to pump his gun for once make a better score...
