This has been gnawing at me for a while now~ ever since my old El Paso Weaver K-3 60-B lost it's nitrogen and started fogging around 3 C.

There are a lot of nice scopes available now, but few match the 3X 38mm K-3 in terms of compact size and usable image.
I've made do with my 3-9X 40 A/O Discovery for the past season with it turned down as low it will go magnification wise.
It's still not the same thing as the trim and compact K-3, but gets the job done.

Just wondering if I'm alone in my scope desires. They are all purpose driven.
The K-3 however, suits my jump 'em up style of grouse and rabbit hunting, which can be very rapid shooting at times.
I had better start looking for a slightly newer K 2.5 W while there are a few still floating around...
The scope manufacturers would do well to re-insert this page into their books.

I unfortunately don't have any experience with those nice Weaver scopes you cherish, but I can speak about some others I have that fit some of your needs.

I have a CenterPoint 3x32 with the usual duplex reticle, model 72001, sadly discontinued. Glass is better than all the CP 4x32 I ever saw, it tracks very consistently, and has a fixed 30 yards parallax setting. It weighs a bit over 9 ounces, and fit well in low-profile rings. Not springer rated I think, but I bought it for a pumper at the time. When I bought it new about 6 or 7 years ago I paid 60$ + taxes, so an excellent value in my book.

I also have two smaller Hawke 2-7x32 AO scopes, one Vantage and one Airmax. Both have excellent glass and mil-dot reticles, and overall quality is very good IMHO:

I've also looked at those two:

Crossbow scopes can be an option too, I recall seeing quite a few interesting compact ones suitable for airguns, of decent quality and price.

Also saw some nice Leupold  , here's a few:

https://www.leupold.com/scopes/rimfire- ... ire-4x28mm (parallax free @ 60 yards).

I've always loved a small, clear, fixed power scope. For my tastes and kind of shooting, this is what I'll favor. I usually only use the lowest magnification, I feel I loose too much ''field'' at higher mags. If you can get that with a nice vintage piece, only better :).

Hey Doc, maybe this will help, try taking apart you're scope on one side to expose the internals, put it in a box with holes and add silica gel and place it behind the fridge close to the warm area, leave it for a day, come back and put back the scope and try it, see if it will still be causing moisture.

That K-3 is almost as old as I am, and the internal seals have very likely failed.
It remains clear at temperatures above 3 C for now, and is still usable as long as it doesn't get cold too fast.
It clears up after a few hours of being in the warm dry house.
The 60-B series was Weaver's first production scope to be sealed and nitrogen filled.
I have a C-4 series micro trac K-4 here that performs in the cold just fine, but is a completely different breed of scope from the K-3.
It's a lot bigger, and is set for parallax at 100 yds. From the bit of work I've done with the K-3, it appears to be set for parallax at 50 yds.
I am going to have to do a bit of looking around yet...

Haven't tried one on a airgun. But for grouse and rabbit hunting with a 22lr, I'm kind of partial to the Leupold 1-4x

There's the K-3 there on one of my pumpers. It has taken several ruffed grouse and a couple of rabbits as shown. Very hard to beat for size, image and fast to use thin plain cross hair reticle.
Gonna look around some more, but it may be a while.
