Follow up

I first try the original 2240 valve with challenger rear adjuster. I got aroud 35 good shots and a other 30 just good enough for plinking soda ca. I had a lot of hammer bouncing i guest is why the accuracy was not really good.

Today I install a real 2300 serie valve with the reducer and the shorter pin # 2300-122. First thing the pistol was really quiet with the original hammer spring. I got now 75 good shots for serious target shooting and a other 15 shots with a combat hold sighting i pop a 1" plinker all the time.

I think now I have a winner for the power plant for this pistol.

All testing was done with food grade 12g co2 bottle and regular crosman pointed pellets from the same 1250 pack.

Welcome to the forum.

IMO just buy a 3800T. However if you just want to play with modding the go for it. It'll cost more in the end and likely an inferior product but fun to do.

Maybe keep an eye out for a Daisy 717 or a varient of. Cost effective and accurate enough for local competition.

10m air rifle targets are small. Try with some 10m air pistol targets and keep score. I'm sure there are sized down targets for 6m. Matches are typically 60 shots. Anything in the 500's is good.

Hi i just count the cost of my home made 2300t. I already had a 2240 on the shelf i dont use, for everything to convert to the exact 2300t except long breech but valve lpa sight adjustable trigger barrel is cost me 189$ and everything come with free shipping.

To buy it from DL the gun cost is 237$ plus 28$ shipping total 265$ . The basic 2240 cost me 75$ 4 month ago .

For the other mod , wood grip 2 stage sears front metal sight no matter the base gun choice i buy it anyway.

The result is good i get 75 good shoot on a tank , i shoot rested yes i test the gun not the shooter i shoot for 540 to 550 and i dont have receive the sear the grip and the long probe.

Your right if i dont have a 2240 sleeping is was only 2$ cheaper to make it myself and i work on it around 1.5 hrs .

I would recommend replacing the stock trigger sear with the Gmac stainless steel trigger sear. It is wider than the stock sear so it doesn't need to be shimmed to stop it from moving around and also the contact parts are polished to get rid of the grittiness that the Crosman sear is well known for.

I have installed it on several of my builds.
