I will keep trying it. My Outlaw is still shooting good. Hard to give that up.

Good shooting! Tom happy your gun is working out so well for you. From the Guy who kept telling me, I can't shoot like that, and did not want to come out to a match. Nice to see how well you are doing now. Cheers Tom

Thanks Bob for encouraging me on two years ago. I think I owe it all to you and other guys like Chris, James, Jeff, etc. who are showing me the ropes all this time. I am finally confident that I can knock down a few targets everytime.
The HW100KT shall be my main PCP for FT. The gun is always better than the shooter.

Very happy with the HW100KT, in only its second HFT match yesterday at Port Colborne, I shot an all time personal best score of 112/120. It got me the first spot in Hunter PCP class among some great shooters. It definitely is a good gun for it.ImageImageImageImageImageImage

[quote="tom_ke888"]Today I received my aftermarket air cylinder for my HW100KT FSB from Ratworks.
I installed the new cylinder with the ends removed from the OEM air cylinder. The Ratworks FAC cylinder gave me roughly 10cm extra length.
The gun was then tuned down in power to get a shot count goal of 80+ shots per 200 bar fill.
Upon measuring the OEM 18.4 fpe power set up, the pressure regulator was set at 131 bar. Knowing the rifle's shooting characteristics, it will shoot down below reg setting without change in POI if tuned right. I changed the reg setting to 120 bar.
The maximun pellet speed was then tested by changing hammer spring tightness. It was found the gun can still achieve 893 fps at the 120 bar reg setting.
The hammer spring was then turned down to achieve 870 fps, the gun was found to be very consistent at this setting. Not to mention the shot count increased from 45 using factory cylinder to now 90 shots on reg. With more shots having same POI off reg.
Here is the result of my tune as promised:

That is one very sweet HW100 you have now!! It's interesting you turned down the power, I have read and seen reviews where they think the HW100 is over powered in .177 at FAC levels. Not for me to judge, as I don't have one in .177.

I love the concept of a removable air cylinder. If you're out hunting and think you will need more shots, you could carry an extra one in a backpack, full and ready to use.
I have been researching aftermarket air reservoirs for the HW100 as well, and I stumbled across an airgun message forums where they talk about concerns the aftermarket aluminum tubes are not as strong as the factory OEM or the aftermarket titanium tubes. There was a thread with pictures of a tube that split all the way down the full length and another picture with a failure/crack at the threads where the end caps are attached. I am not sure how common that might be for aluminum air reservoirs, as I think there are other airguns that use aluminum air reservoirs right from the factory.

Cheers!
Dave

Lots of HW100 owners all over the world have ratworks cylinders on their rifles and not one report ? I have hear of Fenton and A@M cylinders with issues though . I have had one for a few months now and it hardly ever blows up in my face and kills me .

Yeah, in my travels, researching the aftermarket HW100 cylinders, I have found the odd person to say some negative things about the A&M cylinders too.

An adapter to run Anschutz tubes would be pretty brilliant since they are commonly available.

I like Ratworks cylinder for the following reasons:
1. Great workmanship, every thing fits perfectly.
2. Light weight, I saved 1/2 lbs in the front part of the rifle.
3. Extra shot count.
Aluminum tube definitely needs to be treated with respect. That's why I will not stress it more than what's necessary. After end cap installation (hand snug only), I just leave it alone.

HW110 is a different gun from the HW100. I am sure there will be someone here who can help you tune your HW110 in the Forum.
