Must be nice to have so many nice magnum springers.

Yep~ Recoils and kicks give shooter the most satisfying shooting experience to the springer lovers, and the Magnum types just maximize this experience~

By the way last night I just shot the HW97 and the Diana48 side by side one after one and try to tell the slight difference between these two...

And interesting I still think the Diana looks easier to shoot. But I need to take back what I said before about the recoils... The much higher power Diana did kick harder. As I read the review from B.B. Provided by Duke above, it's really a "health kick", feels solid and no tung, no extra vibration, nothing wrong at all~

And maybe also because I learned about the lightly hold when shooting a springer before already, there's no jumping feels in hands and you can finish following through etc easily~ (maybe I need to try a firm hold to experience the power of the beast later~ [emoji38])

And actually the gun feels a little bit fore end heavy, but when shouldering and shooting (rested as usual on my chair back covered with some winter coats as cushions), the balance of the gun feels well~

And one more thing, the closed side lever just at the good spot for my left hand fingers to rest on when aiming and shooting while I rest the fore end of the stock on the palm...

The Diana48 is really a good one~ Our shooters shouldn't miss it~

And as read the Diana48 also response well to tunings... Not sure if a lazy guy like me would do this soon.....or later and later and later...... :(

Today's mission is try the double stacked cans target first~ because the penetrating power of the 177 magnum is too strong... So far nothing in the house I tried can stop the pellet in it... (oh... Except that 4x4 solid wood block I used to see how deep the pellet can get in before...) ~

Okay... Chrono on, testing results below... Just below 18fpe... Where is that 10% missing to the specs 20fpe hiding?? [emoji38]

Tested one shot with the Baracuda Light too, 9.57g, speed is 905fps... The Baracuda Light is 4.51mm head size, which feels much better when loading... Thinking I should feed this beast with something 4.52mm which should be the perfect fit. (the 10.65g Baracuda is 4.50mm)

Double stacked cans testing...

More speed testing this morning... Tried AADF, JSB Exact Express (the two 4.52mm pellets I have in the moment, on my inventory file I should have some FTT in 4.52 too. However they are just missing from my ammo box... So maybe next time...), Then the other two already on my shooting table which Geco for my 97 and the SIG Venom for my PS and CZ200 and the RWS Supermag which also a heavy pellet at 9.3g

Finally I got (some) 1000fps:
JSB Express 7.87g at 1002fps (17.5fpe)
AADF 8.44g at 998fps (18.7fpe)
Venom 8.08g at 1020fps (18.7fpe)
Geco at 1072fps (no weight specs on tin, weighted some and should be about7.3g, muzzle energy 18.6fpe)...

RWS Supermag 9.3g at 902fps (16.8fpe)

I need to find out where's my FTT... I think the FTT 4.52 could be the good fit to the Diana48 barrel and good weight to have better muzzle energy and could be also an accurate pellet for this beast~

The JSB 4.52 (AADF and the Express) feels not as tight as the 4.51 Baracuda Light I tried and feels similar to each other also close to the 4.50 Baracuda and my other 4.50 size pellets I tried this morning.

Put a cheap Daisy diopter sight on the 48 this morning... Looks good, works well...

Had to adjust the front sight all the way to the front to lower down the POI... And.......

Not sure if I can keep on using this setup because the diopter sight fell off on my eye on the 5th shot... The recoil to the sight looks too strong and the only one screw and without the pin can sit in the rail, it just couldn't hold the sight securely on the gun... [emoji38] I didn't even finish my zeroing yet...

Tightening it up again a little bit more... See if it can stand... Image

Alright... Second stage testing done... It's not going to work without the stopping pin...

The diopter sight keep moving backwards on every shot at a speed of about 0.5mm pre shot... The screw is very tight, not loosed at all... The sight just "sliding" on the rail...

It's very easy to aim and shoot and very accurate after zeroed tho... Image

Yeah when mounting sights or glass on that beast, you have to make use of those stop pin holes.... :D

Yep yep, if you go to your optometrist, he/she can order you som .75 Diopter reading glasses. The reason I mention .75 is that I have tried .25 and .50, but the .75's are best for me. The target is a wee bit fuzzy but both sights are sharply clear. I found with 1.0 diopter readers the target is too fuzzy, although the sights again are clear.

I need reading glasses in a normal basic now... And they are 1.25 to 1.5.

I have only one pair which came from the professional optimistic and all the others are from Walmart, from Aliexpress... So I couldn't really tell they are precisely made or not...

And actually I never used any readers below 1.0 and when I first time realized I must use a reading glasses and tried them in the pharmacy and found the 1.0 was what I need.... Then.... My eyes are getting worse with time goes... :(

And you mean I actually just need something mild to wear when shooting open sights, right? I can grab another pair to try~ :) I found the reading glasses is like the key to open the door of your house... You need quite a few spares to put everywhere in the home... Of course one extra set in your pocket...
