Hey, so the notion of the SCATT training system came up and it seems quite amazing, with a matching price tag. Not being an Olympian or having big competition goals, the level of gun that makes sense for me is less than 1000$. For competitive shooters .. SCATT is perfect.

Looking for alternatives as an aside, I came across the Mantis. It's a tenth of the price of SCATT and fits on a picatinny rail.

What would you guys think of using a mantis on a Glock replica (Edit: oops. Bb pistol. Gen 3 in my case)?

Does anybody have any experience with this system?

How about any training system? ... even SCATT .. just because it's expensive doesn't mean it's ruled out. Personally, I can't and won't afford it but the Mantis or something that's less than 500$ total might be an option.

Looks like an amazing device to me & under $500.00 CDN for the most expensive one.

I had a Mantis, and three or four friends have them.

IMO, the Mantis was a waste of time for both PCP rifle and rimfire rifle shooting. I'm long past competitive at (75) but still was up in the 98%-99% levels. Just not useful for me, because a 1% or 2% increase wouldn't matter spit for what I'm doing.

That said, mine worked very well = good feedback information for improvement on handgun. The thing is, I no longer shoot handgun (see 75 years old).

Getting, finally to the point. Friends who are competitive-level handgun shooters recommend the Mantis and use their systems frequently in training.

Most shoot mainly 9 mm automatics, but I can ask about any revolver feedback if helpful.

For my money, if I still shot handgun, I'd still have mine and be using it. I can't compare to other systems.

Hope that's of some use.

That's super helpful thank you. Do you think it would work with a Glock BB gun? The rail is fine, I'm just wondering about how the Mantis picks up a dry-fire on a BB gun.

... and I will find out because there's a Mantis heading to me right now. If it was a mistake, then I'll sell it.
