Muzzle breaks usually increase noise of the discharge with powder burners, to the point some ranges in NA do not allow them.

The PP700 actually has quite a long barrel, which makes a huge difference in loudness and in air needed to get to 500fps velocity. The reximex barrel is much shorter.

Perhaps the pass through hole at the muzzle end of the RP/A has the effect of amplifying the report as air is escaping at right angles. When I have time, I’ll do another SPL test on both pistols and post the results.

Cheers!

I put the muzzle adapter on so actually no more air going through the pass through holes...

That covers a little bit of the question... However the barrel on the PP700 might be just one inch to less than two inches longer than the one in the RP... Don't think the barrel lower down the noise that much (it do bring up the speed tho)...

At least my 14 inches barrel didn't lower down the noise too much than the original pistol barrel (8inches?!) on my 2240... :)

Reximex RP/A Pellet Chamber to Muzzle approximately 8 inches
PP700 approximately 11.5 inches

That's a significant difference in barrel length -makes sense additional air pressure / volume of air would be required to obtain the same velocity from the shorter barrel of the Reximex pistol -hence a much louder report than the PP700.

Yes.... I forgot the barrel in the PP700 actually to the very end of the action block became it's not a bolt action but you just feed the pellet into the barrel directly after turning the TP block aside.... ;)Image

Good looking PP yepyep. :P
I see from your pictures the difference in barrel lengths.
Check my air gun book and my PP700Sa does 408fps with a 21.3gr. pellet. Only 7.9 fpe.

Thanks~ My PP700 works at 480fps with RWS Super H Point, 14.2g and just 7.3fpe... And my RP was been detuned to 6fpe by the factory...

Mine shoots at maximum 370 fps. Is there anything I can do?
