Just got this from a friend.

Read below for an update on the passage of C21 through the Senate from Don Senft, and it's not good news...

Greetings

I’m currently out of the country but managed to engage with the Firearms Advisory council this morning for their update on C21.

As expected, the news is not good at all. Purely politics as opposed to any modicum of common sense.

This week, following weeks of hearings, the Senate SECD committee began clause by clause review of the C21 document. Several excellent amendments were proposed including a larger carve out for handguns for those actively engaged in sport shooting competition, increased requirements for consultation with First Nations, greater focus on smuggled and ghost guns, and improvements to the red flag laws from the Bill that were opposed by women’s groups.

ALL amendments, ALL of them, were soundly defeated by the 7 Liberal appointed Senators on the SECD who voted as a block to defeat all of these fact based amendments that had arisen as a result of the weeks of expert fact based testimony that SECD had received. Despite all that facts and data/stats based evidence that clearly showed how C21 was a purely political stunt that targeted solely law abiding firearms owners while doing nothing to address illegal firearms and their criminal use, every single Liberal appointed Senator chose to toe the party line and defeated all of the proposed amendments. They clearly recognize what a garbage Bill they have in front of them, but instead of applying any logic or common sense to address all of its flaws, they simply voted along party lines to support their Liberal masters who provided them with their golden ticket.

Why you may ask would they simply line up to defeat every single proposed amendment, even those supported by First Nations and Women’s Groups? Because they were told by their Liberal masters to pass the Bill as expeditiously as possible, so it can be returned to the House and brought into force by 6 Dec, the anniversary of the Poly Technique shooting from all those years ago. In true Liberal fashion, never ever let a tragedy go to waste. Despicable.

Many of the Liberal Senators (who operate under the ludicrous guise of “Independent” Senators) in fact stated that they had received thousands upon thousands of pieces of correspondence opposing the Bill and pointing out its flaws, but they simply dismissed all of this as “gun lobby” biased input Senator Donna Dasko even went so far as to run her own unofficial poll, with a whopping 1000 respondents and she touted this handcrafted poll as “evidence” that “83 percent of Canadians support further gun control and Bill C21”. Proof positive that if you don’t like the truth and facts your hearing, simply run a bias internal poll as you seek confirmation of your bias then use those tainted results to sway the uninformed to your cause. Tin pot dictatorship style politics in what is supposed to be a modern Western democracy. Very sad indeed.

Finally, also from the council, it was confirmed the the Min of PS, Dan Leblanc, was quoted today in an interview in Quebec, that in his view, since C21 was now through the Senate “with their full support and no amendments whatsoever”, that he had the clearance needed to begin implementing a number of the regulations supporting the Bill that his department has been preparing over the past few months. First among this will be regulation to take immediate action against “high capacity magazines”, and in particular those that can be “modified with a screwdriver in someones basement”. Leblanc confirmed for LaPress that the regulation will ban the sale and possession of any magazine with a screw, rivet or internal device that can hold more than 5 rounds. Stores will not be able to sell them, and owners in possession of riveted mags will be required to “dispose of them immediately”. Their use and possession will be a violation of the criminal code.

Please stop and think what this means. Any magazine pinned or riveted will become a prohibited device. You will be required to dispose of them, without any compensation. No manufacturer will ever produce Canadian specific mags, rendering many SAs useless. And then there is the collateral impact on shooting sports if they truly adhere to the 5 round limit. This magazine ploy is simply another way of eliminating firearms from private ownership in Canada. It is completely unenforceable, but they will catch a few, and make examples of them, to send a message to us all. There are apparently other provisions in the regulation addressing firearms with internal mags or tube mags to ensure they too are permanently altered to adhere to the new regulations. This will affect far more than just handgun shooters.

We expect the Bill to clear the Senate and House in time for the Poly photo op on 6 Dec. OICs introducing regulation to support the Bill will drop as early as Jan 2024.

There is also discussion that the Libs are looking at backtracking in the compensation plan for the firearms listed in the May 2020 OIC, as all their recent documentation now refers to the buy back solely in the past tense (as in “initially, a buyback program had been proposed”). Given the Billions it will cost, the assessment is they will use the next mass shooting event to simply proceed with an uncompensated confiscation of all of these firearms. There will be more to follow on this in the months ahead as facts are confirmed.

These are dark times for law abiding firearms owners in Canada. Our only hope of reversing all of this vote pandering political theatre is to elect a Conservative majority government in the next election. Get active politically and get engaged now. There is still a great deal of damage the Libs can do to our community via OIC over the next two years, and they seem intent on doing just that.

Share this info widely. We are under attack, and we need the 2 million firearms owners in this country to unite and defend our sports, hobby and culture.

THIS is important as well.

Last December 23rd. was supposed to be the day to "confiscate" May 2020 OIC firearms on PEI. In the Liberal's own words, "there are ONLY 6,500 P.A.L. holders on the island". This says they are
going to do to each and every one to see if those PAL holders have anything on the list. Who else would/could they search? This search and seizure was called off because the island RCMP OIC's said "no" - not going to do it. The government also noted, that as a strong Liberal 'Holding', they did not expect any "trouble" on PEI, but would also be able to do a "risk assessment" with the search and seizure.

After this cancellation of their plans, the Liberal Government stated perhaps they need to hire people to carry out their confiscation plans. I cannot imagine who THOSE people would be. Someone they could DECLARE Peace Officers?

I think the only fair and right thing to do is for Trudeau himself come and confiscate?

If the RCMP and the municipal police refuse the orders.......What do you think will happen next?

NO NOT! I repeat do not hand in your guns voluntarily, let them file a court order to pull us into court.......This thing is going nowhere!
