I was cruising around airgun info websites tonight and found an article on the Pyramind Air Blog about these new Benjamin pellets. I had heard of them in 2023, but I haven't seen them for sale anywhere in Canada except now on the Crosman Canada online store.

https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2024/02 ... e-pellets/

I haven't tried them so I have no idea how accurate they are. I can only find the .177 version in stock on the Crosman Canada website store, but they list the .22 and .25 cal as well (both out of stock)
https://crosman.ca/cen/airsoft-airguns/ ... llets.html

The .177 and .22 are the spitting image (and weight) of Crosman Premier pellets that used to rule the world in the 1990's. I don't believe there ever was a .25 caliber Premier, at least not that I ever heard of.

I have switched over to JSB and am very happy. I remember also wishing that Crosman would have made a heavier .22 caliber Premier pellet much like the current 15.9gr and 18.1gr JSB pellets.

Crosman 19 grain Premiers in .22 are available on Amazon. I've bought some. They're decent.

The new Benjamin pellets sound good. The Crosman Premier domes from the 90s were my go-to for most .177 airguns. They sold in 1250 count boxes with date stamps and lot numbers (7.9gr, 10.5 in .177 and 14.3gr in .22). Lot #2 and #4 in 7.9gr were excellent. Then QC dropped in later lots and we were hearing about peewee pellets that were too small for accuracy. I took a chance again in 2018 and got a bad box with fat pellets that won’t chamber. I hope Crosman keeps up the QC on this new pellet.

Ah, thanks for the reminder about those Ultra Heavy Domes. I was thinking they didn't have the Premier name on them.

I suppose I am still thinking back to the days when Premier pellets only came in a cardboard box with foam top and bottom, and that's how you could tell they were higher quality than the Copperhead pellets that came in their little plastic boxes with flip up lids.

It looks like they still have the 10.5 gr .177 Premier pellets that come in the cardboard box.

Cheers,
Dave

The Premiers from the 1990s in .177 in 7.9 gr and the .22 in 14.3 gr were my favorites too. The H&N Field Target Trophy in .22 were great also, if I wanted a slightly softer lead pellet.

Every time I try the current run of .177 Crosman Premiers from the metal tins, they are undersized and drop out of the barrel. I haven't tried the heavier 10.5 gr in the cardboard boxes that are still available. Perhaps they are a little larger diameter.

These new 10.5gr are a bit rich for my pocket at $31.09 for 500. Maybe they will introduce a 7.9gr version for typical springers.

I was a huge fan of the old CPLs in the 1250 boxes. I would order 4 boxes at a time from Airgun Express (pre-Pyramyd Air times). When the newer dies were poor I went to JSB Exact for years. Then they also went sour on some lots (peewees). So, I moved to .177cal H&N FTT in 4.51/4.52mm in 2018 and haven’t had a bad tin yet. Price is reasonable too.

I hear that the current JSB Exact lot is fine but haven’t tried any. The H&N Baracuda-8 is also a nice pellet. I have 6 tins for testing when the weather improves. I did some testing late last year and they did well from an Optimus and a TAU-7.

I have shot some of the newer Benjamin .25 gr. in 25.89gr.(I think they were). They shot OK, but were not the preferred pellets for any of my .25's
(4 of them). All my guns shoot best with 25.89gr. Hades and the 33.95gr. JSBs.

Yes, I’ve done very well with the 19gn Domed Ultra Heavy. It’s my favourite .22 pellet
