Hello all,

Thinking of adding another air rifle to my air gun family, really like my .177 Hunter Express (non PAL) but would like to step up to a PAL version .22 cal but stay with a break barrel.
Crosman makes .22 PAL version of Hunter Express and I like the MagFire Ultra Elite but reviews point to a weak magazine issue.

Any feedback/suggestions is appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

Last week I took delivery of a Crosman Vitalshot in .22. The barrel, tube and trigger appear to be Identical to the Hunter E with a different stock. The claimed velocity is 950 FPS, my results are 704 fps with a 14.3 gr and 650 ish with an 18 gr. I ordered it from Crosman Canada with free shipping. The shipping cost from the West coast made the buy from Crosman the best deal. https://crosman.ca/cen/shooting/airsofts-airguns/airguns/airguns-over-500-fps/ctn2s-crosman-vital-shot-np-22-cal-open-sights-950-fps.html . CSS has a couple break barrels in 22 in this price range https://canadashootingsupply.ca/product/kral-n07-break-barrel-rifle-in-synthetic-black-0-22-cal-free-ship/ Wes still has a few Beeman RS2 in stock in .22 https://airgunarcheryfun.ca/beeman-sportsman-teton-rs2-22-cal-air-rifle-with-4x32-scope/

There are too many good break barrels, just a matter how much you want to put onto and what you used it for. Search the review for budget rifle in the forum and you can get some ideas.

If you are plinking within 30-40 yards, PAL and non PAL is alike--as long as you know how to adjust elevation, windage and know the holdovers. In this case a $800 AirArms/Diana etc has not much difference other than a $200 Crosman.

If you plan to hunting--even high power air rifle is only allow for small games in Ontario and in some province you cannot use it for hunting at all. However, you do still need a better one can stretch to 50 even 70 yards and need to be little more accurate.

For target shooting, to get a budget .22 target air rifle maybe better idea as you can use it for plinking and hunting as well.
